Chapter 15: A is back?

"Toby!" Spencer screamed into the basement, where Toby was working.

"What is it, Spence?" He called back up to her.

She raced down the stairs and to her fiancé. She showed him the text.

He pulled her into him, caressing her hair ever so gently. Tears streamed down her face, absorbing into Toby's shirt.

"It's happening again, Toby," she sobbed.

"I made a promise to you a long time ago. I will keep you safe," he said sternly.

"But, the others," Spencer whispered.

"I'm sure Paige, Travis, and Ezra all will do the same."

"But why are they back? We're adults now Toby!" She shrieked.

"They must just want to scare you all."

"And ruin our lives. Again," she added, thinking of Hanna. She had a clear vision of what A hurting Toby would look like, as if it were branded into her brain after all this time.

A was back to finish what they started with Caleb.

Later, she received a panicked text from Aria.

"Did you get the message? What is this supposed to mean?"

An equally scared one resonated from Hanna an hour later.

All that Spencer knew was that A would not take anything else from her. She would put up a wall around her and Toby, blocking A out.

{ew... This chapter sucked so much. But I'm publishing it just because I feel like it's showing defiance that Spencer will make sure A doesn't hurt her. So idrk... }
