A Chance

Jin looked at Jungkook in wonder "Jungkook my past matters. Do you realize that I have a kid? I am broken. I have issues Jungkook, and I come with a lot of baggage. I don't trust. I don't believe words, action matters to me. I have had things done to me that you'd probably be disgusted with me for. Do you seriously want to take us as a burden on?" Jin couldn't understand Jungkook's persistence. He is a handsome and young guy. Why did he have an interest in him and his son?

Jungkook shifted his position on the chair and pulled Jin into his embrace. Jin flinches at first, but Jungkook calmed him. "Relax. I don't know half of what you've been through. What I have observed however is you've been hurt, broken, abused and maybe even refused. I am not telling you I'm the best person for you, but I am asking you, please give me a chance, us a chance. Let me be there for both of you.

What happened in your past won't affect the way I feel about you. I know you are scared of trying. Jin I'm scared too. I'm afraid you won't give me a chance. I scared you won't see me as good enough. I scared I might not be enough for Jimin. I'm struggling with a lot to Jin, but the one thing I am sure of is that I want to try with you. I'm willing to be patient and wait; however long you want me to wait." Jungkook tightens his hold on Seokjin and places his chin on the top of Jin's head.

Jin felt comfort in Jungkook's arms. It was the first time they had been so close together. The words he said make him hopeful, but it's words he didn't know how to trust. Namjoon too, in the beginning, spoke everything he wanted or liked to hear. He doesn't want to fall victim to playful words again.

"Also, Jin, I don't see you and Jimin as a burden. Don't ever call yourself that. You are two precious human beings who I want to love. Call me crazy, but I think you both came into my life for a reason. I can't see my days without Jimin since I have been around. I don't know what your experience was with Jimin's dad to the full extent. I can certainly see he wasn't the best husband out there. However, I am not him, Jin. Give me a chance to show you what being with a real man is like. Let me cater to you and your son." Tears were falling from Jin's eyes, but because of their sitting position, Jungkook could not tell.

"What if after six months you don't want us anymore?" Jin questioned.

"What if after six months I'm asking you to marry me?" Jungkook responded. "Jin we don't know what will happen in six months. Take a leap of faith. Let's give it a chance. We can take it slow. No need to rush anything. I am not asking to move in and get married. All I'm asking for is a chance to date and show you that I'm serious about you both. Can you give us that?"

"I don't know Jungkook. I am tired. I need to sleep. Jimin will be up early tomorrow, and I have to fix what happened earlier with him and I. I feel so horrible. Maybe I'm failing him as a father."

"Sleep right here. In my arms. Just rest. Jimin is fine, and he understands that you love him. He's a bit spoiled, that's all. You are not failing him. Just because he cried does not mean you are failing him. However, by not healing yourself, you could be harming him. Let's work on that together. Right now, I just want to put away everything from your mind and just lay here and sleep." He said, placing a kiss on Jin's head.

As much as Jin wanted to refuse and rebuttal, it felt good being in Jungkook's arms. He felt security and calm. So that's how he fell asleep that night in the arms of the man that only wanted a chance with him and his son.

When Jungkook felt Jin's full body weight, he knew he had fallen asleep. Although the position his leg was in was making him cramp, he dare not move as he did not want to wake him up.

"Just, let me love you,"  Jungkook whispered and places a soft kiss on Jin's shoulder.
