Kimberly's POV

The drive in the car wasn't too long. Rebecca parked along a sidewalk and got out. She came around my side and opened my door for me.

"I can open a door for myself, ya know."

"Calm down missy I know. Can't I just be nice?"

She turned and walk down some steps and opened a somewhat rusty door. We walked in and I looked around, taking in the place.

"Where are we?"

"This my dear, is a dive bar. But not the dirty ones. This one is a little more sophisticated and sanitary. It also comes with live music if anyone wants to perform."

I followed her to a bar stool and sat next to her.
She beckoned a bar tender over and ordered 4 shots of tequila.

"I hope all 4 of those are for you because I am not drinking around you again."

She chuckled and slid me one as the bar tender placed them down. "Relax. We're just gonna hang out here, listen to music, and order random drinks."

She mumbled something else that sounded like victims as she turned around but I didn't exactly hear her. Just 'scope' and 'victim'. She downed both of her drinks in less than 10 seconds and sucked on a lime after.

"I hope you're not driving us home."

"It was just 2 little drinks, I'm fine, my tolerance is high."

I sighed and cursed internally as I looked at 'my drinks'.

"C'mon just drink them. Please, for me?"

"Screw it," I said as I drank one after the other. My throat and chest felt like they were on fire and it left me cringing at the feeling.

"Here," Rebecca said as she handed me a lime.
"It helps."

I took the lime from her and bit into it. The sour taste made me cringe even harder but it soothed the burn.

"There ya go," she said as she rubbed my back. "You did that like a champ."

"I am never doing that again," I shuddered.

"You'll learn to love it."

I rolled my eyes and turned in my stool to further observe the contents of the bar. There were people socializing and drinking, some playing pool, some playing darts.

While scanning the room, I made eye contact with a lady, a rather attractive lady might I add. Her green eyes reminded me of emeralds. She was dressed in a casual but fashionable outfit. A loose white blouse tucked into jean shorts with vans and topped off with a beanie. Definitely a hipster. Only thing missing are the glasses, I laughed to myself.

She smiled at me and excused herself from the table she was sitting at, I'm assuming with friends, and made her way towards the bar stools.

The mystery woman sat on a bar stool next to me and called the bartender over. "Hey can I get two apple martinis?"

"Sure thing," he said before walking away.

"So what's a young girl like you doing in a dive bar?"

"I could ask you the same."

"The difference is, I'm old enough, you're not."

"How can you tell?"

"I just know," she smirked.

"Truth is this is my first time in a bar and I was brought here."

"Oh yeah? By who."

Just then Rebecca showed up at my side. I guess she had just came from the bathroom.
