I had stuck with Paul and his friends for the night as they seemed to be really nice people. I didn't feel like the new girl as much with them. We had moved closer to the fire and were sat on the sand, talking. I was sat between Pauls legs, leaning back on his chest, talking to Tara about boarding school. She told me she had always wanted to go so we were discussing what it was really like compared to the rumours she had heard. A lot of things weren't true and the truth really surprised her. It was fun to see her reaction.

'Paul' a girl greeted, coming up to us.

'Oh, here comes trouble!' Josh muttered.

Everyone else looked really awkward when this girl approached us so I started to get a little worried and was instantly on guard.

'Is this your new slut Paul?' she asked maliciously, looking at me sat close to Paul.

'Leave it alone Zoe' Paul sighed tiredly, 'Katie is a new friend. I promised her brother I'd look after her'

'Zoe, leave it please' Tom said to her.

'Wait, is she Sam Uleys sister?' Zoe asked excitedly.

'Yes, I am' I told her.

'He's soooooo hot' she gushed.

'So I've heard' I muttered, rolling my eyes.

'Can you introduce me to him?' she asked.

'Nope'

'Why not?'

'Because you called me a slut and basically ignored me until you realised I was related to Sam which means I don't like you very much' I told her.

I heard small chuckles from Pauls friends as Zoe looked at us all offended.

'You just made an enemy. That was a bad thing to do' she said, then stalked off.

'I don't think I've ever heard anyone stand up to her. Nice job' Josh complimented me.

'Thanks. I think'

'You have a fiery side Kitty Kay. I'm liking you more and more' Paul said, poking my side.

I squealed slightly and slapped his hands away, moving slightly so I was sat sideways between his legs instead.

'Do that again and I'll punch you' I threatened.

'Is that a threat?'

'Nope. A promise. Don't think I won't do it'

'Don't do it Lahote, look at her eyes, she has a spark in them that looks more dangerous than the one you get at times' Tom warned him.

'She's the female version of you Lahote' Lucas announced, laughing.

'You don't even know me' I told him.

'I know enough' he replied, 'and I think I'm right based on what I've seen of you so far tonight'

'I'm awesome, I know' I shrugged.

'And modest' he laughed again.

'I'm liking these compliments'

'Being the female version of me is a compliment?' Paul asked.

'Hell no! That was an insult'

He poked me in the side that was close to him, making me jump. So I punched him. Hard.

'Ow! What was that for?'

'Poking me. I did warn you'

'It hurt'
