Chapter Twelve

'Obviously our number one rule is not to tell anyone about the pack. Honestly, I doubt anyone would believe you but we can never be too careful' Sam started, 'Stay away from bloodsuckers - their smell will keep us away Embry but we need to make sure Katie knows who they are. I know they're currently out of town but I believe they may come back at some point for the human girl Bella'

'Got it, no vamps, no spilling secrets' I nodded, 'Anything else?'

'I think Jacob Black will be the next to phase and by rights, he is the Alpha so the leadership around here may change'

'But you're the Alpha' I said confused.

'He's the grandson of Ephraim Black with many 'greats' added to that, who was the last Alpha. So it's his birth right. He could always turn it down though'

'He can do that?'

'Yes, he can. Next item of business, a red headed vampire has been spotted running around town - not a Cullen - but she seems to be after something so we're going to be running patrols for a while until we figure it out' he sighed before continuing, 'So all of you can stay at ours for a while. Jared, Paul, you won't be going to school for a while'

'I like that plan' Jared laughed.

'Do I get to stay with Kitty Kat at yours?' Paul asked, a smirk on his face.

'No way!' Sam protested.

Embry and Jared started to laugh until Sam glared at them to stop.

'Paul, Jared, go home and pack a bag. We'll meet you back at ours in an hour' Sam told them, standing up.

We all followed suit, Paul kissed me quickly before heading to his house with Jared to get some of his things. Embry, Sam and I headed to the car with an empty basket and the towels so we could head home to Emily.

'Shot gun!' I called and Embry sighed disappointedly.

'Damn you Katie!' he replied, laughing.

I laughed as I skipped to the car. The whole way home Sam grilled me on the rules of Paul staying at ours. No staying in my room overnight and when he is in there the door needs to be open at all times. I felt like a little kid again. Or like I was back at school. I hated having so many rules to follow.

'Have fun?' Emily asked once we were home.

'It was so much fun! Such a rush'

'Sam didn't think you would jump' she told me, laughing.

'Oh I know. He said. But like usual, he severely underestimated me'

'You can tell you're related' she laughed again.

'I take that as a compliment' I replied, heading upstairs to change.

I was freezing cold now so I changed into some leggings, a long sleeved top, and put Pauls hoodie back on. I could hear voices heading upstairs so I assumed Paul and Jared were here. I guessed right as the pair of them along with Embry came running into my room and piled on top on me on the bed.

'Guys... can't... breathe'

'Better get used to it now that all of us are living with you' Embry told me as they climbed off me.

'My life is gonna be hell' I stated.

'You'll learn to love us' Jared added.

'I'm dreading it already' I joked.

'Guys, get down here' Sam called.

We joined Sam and Emily downstairs where Sam proceeded to tell us the plan for the next few days. The boys were going to go on patrol in pairs while I took Embry back to school and helped Em around the house more.

'Alright, movie?' I asked Paul when Sam had finished.

'Sure, lets go' he agreed.

'Leave the door open' Sam called after us as we headed upstairs.

I sprawled out on the bed as Paul looked for a movie to watch. I didn't have many to choose from as I didn't have much storage space at boarding school. He put on Iron Man and then joined me on the bed. He had to move me out of the way so there was room for him. I snuggled into him happily - this was the longest time we had spent together alone since we got together.

It didn't take long for Paul to ignore the movie and focus on me instead. Our kisses were ong and deep, different to the ones we'd shared so far. I gotta say, Paul was a really good kisser!

'Guys, dinner!' Emilys voice interrupted our make out session.

I pulled away from Paul and groaned a little. He pulled me back to him.

'Noooooo, stay. You're comfy' he tried to persuade me.

'But I'm hungry' I replied, standing up, 'Come on'

He groaned but followed me downstairs where Emily had four pizzas out on the table waiting to be eaten.

'Four pizzas?' I asked.

'You all eat loads so I thought it would be best to prepare' she explained.

'Fair enough. I'm all for food!'
