superstitous

It was a bright sunny day when you decided to go over to your friend, Varian's house. It was a windy one still and your little black-haired cat named, Cat was blowing around. You picked your little kitty up and kept walking.

You knocked on the door.

Quirin asked, "Hello, (y/n)."

You asked, "Is Varian home?"

"He's in the shed."

"Thanks." You walked to the shed. Of course, he was there, he was always there, sometimes he even slept there. You walked over to him.

"Whatcha doing?" You asked.

"I'm working on something that will hopefully create snow."

"In summer?"

"Yes." Then Varian looked at you and your cat with his adorable blue eyes. "You brought a black cat into my lab?"

"What's wrong with that?"

"It's a black cat. What if it brings bad luck to the snow invention I'm making."

"I didn't know that a man of science like you would be so superstitious. Plus it's my cat."

"Well I'm going to test this but if it doesn't work, I'm blaming it on your cat."

"I'll blame it on you failing to see that there is no such thing as bad luck." Varian turned on the invention that he had been making and the air got colder with speckles of white fluff spreading out everywhere. "Is this foam?" You asked.

"No, it's a composition of H 2 O and C3 H5 OH 3."

"So, soap."

"Yeah, it's just soap. I thought you would appreciate the snow because of the way you loved the few days of winter we got in Corona."

"Aw, thanks." You said as you put Cat down and touched the small bubbles. You wanted to touch them, and they slowly dissolved in your hands just like snow would. "Winter is so beautiful." You remarked looking at the snow that had fallen in your hair and his.

"And so are you."

"What?"

"Uh, I didn't mean-"

"Did I just hear you say what I thought you said?"

"Um, no."

"You think I'm beautiful."

"Uh, maybe."

"Well, I think you're beautiful too."
