(Friends: Are you listening to Christmas songs because it's December?

Me, because I'm clueless: No, it's Jeremy Jordan)

---------------------------------

YOU walked to the mailbox anxiously opening the door. There were a couple of letters, some mail from different people, some flyers, and a letter which you instantly knew was Varian's. You brought all of the mail inside and you opened up his letter.

It has been so long since we have seen each other and I'm going to try to come home during the holidays but I'm not completely sure how. I hope you can wait for me because I promise that I'll make it back in time.

   - with love, Varian

You were excited if the letter was the truth. You hadn't seen each other for a couple of holidays and if you were being honest, letters were all that you ever had between each other. You got out your pen and you began to write a letter in reply.

I hope that you can make it all the way here. If you can't it's fine anyway, we don't need to see each other every holiday. The letters are all I need. If you really can come, I'll see you on December 24th.

   - (Y/n)

The next day you waited for more mail, nothing came that fast but you hoped that maybe there would be something. You checked to find no more letters so you went back inside. You checked back every day after that until you saw a letter that brought you some sad news. It was December 22nd and you wondered what had happened for plans to change.

I'm sorry, but I can't make December 24th, but maybe I'll see you next year. I'm always hoping for when I can come to visit but this year it's not to be.

   - Varian

He didn't even finish the letter with, I'm Sorry, Varian or Lots of Love, Varian, or even what he put last time. You weren't sure if you should write a letter because you doubted that it would get to him before the 25th. You sighed as you held the letter in your hand. Another year goes by. Another year to add to your never-ending group of letters sent saying that he would come home because not being home for the holidays was sad.

You kept on and invited your friends over for the holidays hoping that you could have some company despite your family. They came over, but they said that you could only be there for an hour. You understood you didn't want to keep them from their families and it was understandable for the holidays. Everyone wants to be with their own families.

At 8:30, you heard a knock at the door wondering if it was going to be your friends. When you opened the door it was...

indeed your friends.

They all stayed outside even though you had allowed them to come inside. You didn't want them to stay out in the cold forever.

"We have something to show you." one of your friends said and then they all parted away.

"Happy Holidays?!" Varian said. You were so shocked but you walked up to him to meet him. It was so strange to see him after all of this time. He hugged you and you were still in disbelief that he was standing there hugging you. It didn't feel real.

"How are you here?" you asked.

"Um, my dad surprised me. Even though I didn't think I was going to make it," he said.

"You're the best," you said.

"Now that you're December is saved, we're going to go back home." one of your friends said, gesturing to the rest of the group.

"Okay, well bye." you said, "Why did they even come?"

"Because they knew I was coming," he explained.

"If they knew that you were coming and they didn't tell me...you know what never-mind I'm not mad at any of them. It was a good surprise."

"I'm glad you're happy." Then you both went inside and your parents met Quirin.

You exchanged gifts and it was a good thing that you asked your parents to set more tablespaces because they stayed for the night.

The day was great and you were sad when you remembered that he was only here for today. "I guess we'll have to say goodbye."

"Well, maybe not," Quirin said interrupting the conversation.

"What?" Varian said just surprised as you.

"I was thinking about moving closer. You'd go to the same school and you'd live almost in the same neighbourhood and you won't have to spend any more Christmases apart." Quirin explained.

"That's amazing news!" you said.

"That's so exciting, but I'll kind of miss the letters."

"I think it's time for a change."

authors note

Another one that I wrote because I lost another friend. We only get to see each other two or once a year and I haven't seen her since we saw Spider-Man: Far From Home with each other. That's right I remember the date. That Frozen one was sooo long that I just, I'm too unmotivated.

Almost forgot...
