"WHO'S coming to my party tonight?" Rapunzel asked the group. She was waiting for a response, that people were going to be there to celebrate with her. Everyone looked at one another in silence, they had had a conversation before about who was going and everyone had come up for a reason why they couldn't come.

You knew that Cass had to go find a tree with her father and Eugene had told everyone that his father was making him make some sort of pudding for the holidays. You yourself were busy as well, you had planned to see the lights shown down by your family's house.

"I'm sorry, but I'm stuck doing something with my family," you said.

No one had stated their reasons but Rapunzel seemed interested in yours, "What are you doing with your family?"

"Um, I'm going to see the lights for the holidays. It's like a celebration with dozen of string lights that are programmed to music," you said.

"I've never seen that before," Rapunzel said honestly. Everyone looked at her. They all had seen it at least once when they were younger but the fact that she hadn't seen it for her entire life was crazy.

"You've never seen the lights? Like ever?" Varian asked her.

Rapunzel shook her head, giving everyone a kind of embarrassed smile. "I'm taking you to see those lights, Blondie," Eugene said.

"That's a great idea, how about we all just go and see them with your family," Varian said to you, and you felt a lot of stress for no reason really. Well, there was a reason, you didn't want more people there with you, you already had your cousins from both sides of your family coming.

"But, you all have your own things to do and I wouldn't want to intrude on that," you told them, being a bit defensive of your holiday tradition. It was for your family, but what about your friends, would your two worlds colliding be so bad during the holidays?

"So? We can get them done earlier on in the night and be ready for...when where the lights?" Eugene explained and asked you for the time of the celebration.

"Nightfall, at six," you said. The lights were never on very late because you brought your younger cousins with you and they never stay up until nine. Your family had picked a tradition that everyone in your family could do.

"Six?" Eugene asked shocked. Cassandra and Rapunzel were a little bit taken back as well. They all contemplated what they could be doing tonight and you waited for a couple of seconds to let them think.

"I actually don't think that there's any way that I can make it," Cassandra said. Eugene nodded with her point.

"I would come along though," Varian said.

"It's okay you don't have to I have lots of families," you said.

He shrugged, "I don't have to, but I want to."

You looked at the others then you realized that someone was waiting to pick you up outside. You rushed to the car and got inside. You were ready to go home, and hopefully, you would see Varian there that night.

"Come on (Y/n), the lights won't wait for anyone!" your mother called you downstairs. You had been working on some schoolwork that you had brought home.

You slipped on an "okay" outfit as fast as you could and then raced to the door to put your shoes on. Then you got into the car and was ready to drive to the lights.

The lights were amazing and when you got there, there was a crowd of cars waiting to watch from afar. People often waited in their car so you had told your friends what type of car your parents had in a group chat.

Raps: Ok I'm pretty sure I'm coming, just going to be late because I have to pick someone up.

Then minutes later.

Raps: Ok we're here.

Who's we? You wondered. Then you saw everyone. She had brought Eugene, Cass, and Varian along with her.

They came out of the car, and then you got out of yours. "You came!"

"You're happy?" Cass asked. You had been a little bit standoffish at the beginning.

"What exactly are the lights?" Eugene asked.

"They're a bunch of LEDs that are programmed to light up a certain way to go with songs. So people watch from their cars to listen in to the radio." Varian answered before you could.

"Yes, which means that I'm still going to be in my car and you should be in yours." You scurried off before the lights started.

Then the light is shown upon the large old house and they illuminated the scene with a kaleidoscope of colours. It wasn't long, maybe 5 minutes. As soon as the show was over you met with your friends at a nearby Dairy Queen.

"Ice Cream? It's freezing outside!" Cassandra questioned.

"Are you sure you don't want some?" Rapunzel asked.

"No, I'm good." She said.

"Well, today was fun! I hope you guys got to do your traditions." You commented.

"We did." Everyone said and then laughed because they said it at the same time. You laughed with them and it was a great day to end the night.
