IT was late at night and the moon had risen to it's highest peak. A large full moon like the ones that you only heard of in legends. You were now of age to go to the final shrine for your powers. It had been years of you trying and trying, now that you had turned sixteen you were able to try one last time. Maybe being there during the full moon would let you use your powers for good.

You prayed to the spirit there, you hoped that something would come out of this journey. If anything, you weren't ready to be disappointed again. Disappointed for the third time. Wearing a soft white outfit, you walked into the shallow water. The water was swarmed with lily pads and dust that looked like it was sparkles by the deflection of the moon. You had tried so hard to come here, this was your hardest trial yet. "I'm not sure if you're there, I have nothing left to try. The only thing that I can believe in now, is you. If you're really there you can help me." You asked the spirit. It was the truth, this was your final chance.

With their help you would finally be able to protect the kingdom you fought so hard for. You kingdom was losing a battle that they've been fighting for ages. You sighed, there was no response and you still couldn't harness your powers. The water swayed as you slammed your fists in disappointment. Feeling like a failure to your kingdom you wanted to cry. "I'm sorry, I'm not good enough for you, any of you. I guess I have to return home with bad news."

When you walked out of the shrine, you noticed Varian waiting outside like you asked him too. He handed you a blanket, the midnight air was cold. You smiled with your lips closed and looked up at the moon. "You will always be better than enough to me and I'd fight any war to protect you and the kingdom." You looked at him shocked.

"That means a lot." You then boarded a silky white horse that glowed in the light of the moon.

"You mean a lot to me." He replied.

"It would be best to head back home, it's not safe out here during these hours, not anymore." You noted, then you took the reins of your steed and cantered away. Once you got back to the palace you weren't bothered, you went to your bedroom. You were having a restless sleep until Varian noticed and came in.

"Are you doing alright?" He asked.

"If you want the absolute truth, no, I'm having trouble sleeping." You said, you looked at the wrinkles on the covers of your large bed. He fixed the sheets and he gave you a kiss on your forehead. You closed your eyes in response feeling much better. He was about to leave when you noticed the unsettling darkness all around you, "I hope it doesn't bother you, but can you stay with me?"

"Are you sure?" You nodded and he rested on top of one of the two covers you had. He had respected a little bit of your space, but him being there was comforting enough for you, you were instantly able to go to sleep with his help.
