winter adventure pt. 3

IT WAS COLD, the snow crunched hard between your shoes and the wind whistled in the distance. You weren't sure if you were lost of just making your way to be found. As the white fractals fell on your hair and face you wondering how Varian was doing. It was probably wrong to leave him. What had you done?

   There was no longer time to turn back. You continued on as the snow began to grow stronger and stronger. The wind sweeping it against an icy landscape ahead. You began to wonder if your reindeer friend had any clue where he was going.

    He wasn't using his nose to aid him in the storm and when you reached a lake you wondered what the next step should be. "How are we going to get to the island?" He asked.

   "Um, I think I have away." You used one of your feet to create ice and it froze the lake so you could get onto it. "Still works."

   The reindeer looked shocked, "You have ice magic?"

   "Um, yeah. It's not really a big deal. Come on!" you said, creating a path of ice along the lake. You reached the giant ice glacier that formed an island and you wondered if you were finally there. There were inhabitants of the island. But was it Opprinnelse? The snow began to stop falling and the inhabitants looked at you shocked. Looking back at them shocked yourself, you saw how they were all wearing a necklace. One like the one that you had been given a long time ago, from what you thought was your biological parents.

    "Who are you? You have a medallion that's only given to our families." Someone, you assumed the leader asked.

    "I'm (Y/n) of Corona. I think this necklace was from my parents that I never knew, but you ll seem to have the same medallion," you said.

    "Of course we do, it's a tradition for a Edleste to have a dolomite medallion." Another voice piped up. One from a girl about your age.

    "An Edleste?" You asked wondering what all of this was about. Edleste? Medallions? Was this your home once upon a time? You were so lost. So confused.

    "Our family name. We're all one big united family." The leader told you and put a hand on your shoulder.

    "Come with me, I'll tell you everything about Else." The girl said to you. You wanted to know more about where you came from but it wasn't the right time.

    "I'd love to, but I'm looking for someplace. Someplace that will give me the answers that I'm looking for. Opprinnelse." You told them.

    The Edlestes looked stunned and they looked amongst each other while the leader walked up to you and nodded. "You have powers, powers of nature. I could sense that you were gifted as soon as you walked onto our shores. I will help guide your there, but unfortunately, the journey to Opprinnelse is one you must make on your own."

    You understood. It was your choice to find the answers, and those answers were yours to find.

    "Opprinnelse is underneath the Spring star. The one that glows the brightest during springtime. I know it's Winter now but head northwest and you will find it. I wish you the best of luck. Have courage my young one." She showed you where from the island you should begin the journey and you parted ways with Rudolph.

     It was a good thing that Varian wasn't here, he would definitely want to come with you but you still missed him. You still worried about him, you still cared. If only he knew that.

    "I can't believe (Y/n) left," Varian said, talking to the snowman from before, "and look at me! Talking to a snowman!"

    "I don't know a lot about love, but it seems that you two have a special connection." the snowman nodded.
