The day had finally arrived, it was a picnic day in the kingdom and it just so happened that Rapunzel invited her to your royal picnic to live out the day's festivities. Rapunzel sure had invited a lot of people and at least she had enough food for everyone there.

"Blondie, are you sure you didn't want to invite maybe just a little bit fewer people."

"I did invite less."

"Raps here was going to invite the whole kingdom," Cass told Eugene.

You walked up to the field that they were having the picnic and you began to look around for any sign of them.

"(y/n)! I'm so glad you could make it! Where's Varian?"

You wanted to choke. "UH-um-you invited him?" He was your crush and you didn't want him to be here today. When Varian arrived you tried to play it really cool as if you weren't at all interested in him.

"Hi,(y/n)."

"Hey." You said, your face trying to cage in all of the awkwardness that it was going to let out.

"It's a nice day for a picnic."

"What?"

"I just said it was a nice day for a picnic."

"Oh, yeah." You tried not to laugh nervously.

"How about we go sit down somewhere with some food?" Cass said, taking a plate and filling it.

"I can't argue with her," Eugene said.

"Yeah, for once," Rapunzel remarked. "I really think that picnic day is bringing out the best in everyone."

You were just about to take the last of (your favourite fruit) when Varian's hands touched it first.

"Oh sorry. Did you want this?" He asked you.

"Yes." You managed to get out of your mouth. Varian continued filling his plate with food as you walked to Rapunzel and Cassandra. You only had a few things left on your plate. You sat down and looked at the two of them, they were both eating bites of their food. "Where's Eugene?"

"Right there," Rapunzel said and pointed to Eugene who had a plate that had more than one layer of food on the plate. The three of you laughed as Varian wasn't looking and ran straight into Eugene. Eugene's food fell on the ground and Varian toppled on him.

"Are you okay?" You asked both of them and you helped Varian to his feet. It totally wasn't because you wanted to hold his hand.

"It's okay. I'm fine." Eugene said when you forgot to help him up. Then all of you sat down and shared the picnic together.

"Did you break your smolder, Fitzherbert?" Cassandra said.

"Ha-ha," Eugene said angrily.

"This has been an amazing day. If you guys didn't invite me I totally would have been reading about cosmography."

"Cosmography?" Varian asked you.

"The science that-"

"brings together general features of the cosmos or universe." He said. "I know about it but I prefer alchemy."

"Really?"

"Wow. I didn't realize someone else in Corona liked science so much."

"That's me. The other person who likes science."

"You're amazing." He told you and you may have begun to blush. "Are you blushing?" You totally knew that you were, but you tried to deny it.

"What, no." Yet you just blush harder.

"Did I get the ever-stoic (y/n) to blush?"

"No...It's...It's the cold."

"Huh. It's the sunniest day in Corona. So the fact that you're blushing has nothing to do with the fact that I told you you're amazing."

You blushed harder. "N-no."
