"We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all."

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Your dad asked. You didn't speak you just nodded your head, you took your floppy bag and shut the car door with a slam. It was cold, so you had brought an extra coat to school. You entered the plain beige hallways of your high school and you walked past the many posters before the library. You sat down on the farthest table from the front. This whole thing seemed like a plot to get students to interact with each other and that's something you didn't want to do.

You watched as other people came into the room. Four other students, you guessed. Four other people to not talk to, you didn't have anything better to do so you went to detention. Two girls, two guys. The supervising teacher came into the room and talked to all of you.

"Well...well. Here we are! I want to congratulate you for being on time."

"Excuse me, sir? I think there's been a mistake. I know it's detention, but...I...um...don't think I belong in here." The girl with the long blonde hair said.

"It is now seven-oh-six. You have exactly eight hours and fifty-four minutes to think about why you're here. To ponder the error of your ways. You're all here for different reasons, which you know and don't-"

"I pulled the fire alarm because school is boring and I was doing a service to everyone."

"You don't have to share, Mr. Fitzherbert. As I was saying, you may not talk, you will not move from these seats, and you will not sleep. You five are going to be writing an essay, with no longer than a thousand words describing to me who think you are. Any questions?"

"Why are you the boss?" asked the guy named Fitzherbert.

"I'll give you the answer to that question, Mr. Fitzherbert, next Saturday. Don't mess the with the bull young man, or you'll get the horns." The teacher left the room and went into his private office which was just outside of the main door to the library. He stubbed his toe a shelf walking there and he looked at all of you that went from smiling to straight-faced.

"That man is a brownie hound," Fitzherbert said. Everyone is quiet so the only noise that was heard was you biting your nails. You noticed everyone looking at you, and you tried to slouch in your chair to become invisible but you continued to bite your nails. "You keep eating your hand, and you're not going to be hungry for lunch," Fitzherbert commented.

The other boy was busy playing with the pencil he was giving, he was trying to start the essay. "Who do I think I am? Who are you? Who are you?" he asked himself repeatedly and put the pen top between his lips. Fitzherbert removed his coat, but at the same time, the other boy did. He stopped taking it off when he realized that Fitzherbert had taken his off. He pretending to be really cold and rubbed his hands together, everyone seemed to be more afraid of Fitzherbert then the teacher. Fitzherbert crunched up his paper and tried to throw it at the girl with the long hair.

The girl turned around and caught it. She frowned at him.

"Hey!" The girl with pale eyes yelled. Fitzherbert didn't pay attention. "Hey!" she yelled louder.

"What's wrong, Cass?"

"You're bothering her, stop!"

"I did. Are you trying to defend her or something."

"Maybe."

"Are you going to fight me?"

"So you do want to go. Just you and me. Two hits. Me hitting you. You hitting the floor. Anytime you're ready, pal." Cassandra said.
