"Its all so pretty!" Exclaimed an excited Dream, spinning around in circles. Cross was just watching him do this with a smile on his face. They were in the midst of Tokyo, a bustling city in the middle of Japan, and for skeletons used to living in small towns and wide-open spaces in their home country of New Zealand, this was a completely new experience.
They'd never seen buildings so tall, or streets so busy. It was the perfect city since they wanted to explore.

Hell, about half a year before, Cross had taken the liberty to learn fluent Japanese so he could translate the signs for stores on the streets. It hadn't proved useful yet because most of the signs had English translation under them anyway.
That hadn't stopped them though, they still had plenty of fun. They'd eaten at sushi bars, visited temples and art galleries, ate out at restaurants and had coffee together at the cafes.
All in all, Dream and Cross had spent a week in Tokyo already and didn't feel like leaving just yet.
"It is, isn't it Dreamy?~" Cross said softly, taking the smallers hand in his and intertwining their fingers gently. His eyes were compassionate towards the smaller, always giving him the gentlest of gazes. Ever since the day they were married, Cross had always made sure to take the greatest of care towards Dreams happiness, no matter what it was. Travelling had been something the both of them wanted to do for a very long time but never had the money to. But when they finally got the savings pooled together, Tokyo was the first place they went.
Call it a second honeymoon if you will.

They felt they deserved it anyway.
Dream worked hard tending to the tree of dreams and his extensive orchard that he handpicked apples from. It took years to grow it and he was very proud.
Every month, during the growing season, he'd go out into it with a horse cart drawn by two palomino horses and pick every last fruit.  At the end of the day, he'd give the horses some apples and would make the best and sweetest tasting apple crumble with them for desserts.

Cross worked hard working for Nightmare.
Just doing the odd jobs and missions, working with the others and trying to find time for Dream aswell. But when he returned home, Dream would always be happy to see him.
It was hard trying to juggle all of these things but he had to earn money somehow and because of his insane fear of cows, there weren't really any other jobs open to him. The community they lived in was based largely around dairy farms.

At least they finally had the money to go to these places.
Today, they slept all day just they'd have the energy to see Tokyo at nighttime. So far, it was amazing. The flashy signs lit up the sidewalks in all sorts of hues, on the smaller streets, lanterns stretched from one house to the next, making a dull glow.
Majority of the colours were purples, yellows and pinks, some greens and blues also.
LED lights decorated shop windows,  others had fairy lights, illuminating the objects in the windows under coloured lights, highlighting their beauty.
It looked like something out of a movie, just much prettier.
Tokyo was amazing.

"Look at how pretty it is!" Dream chirped happily.
"Yeah. It's beautiful." Cross cuddled into the smaller a little "Not as beautiful as you though~"
"Oh Crossy~" Dream blushed a bit, a familiar tuscany shade of yellow Cross would never get enough of appearing on his cheeks. "You're so thoughtful~"

Cross began to walk, gently leading Dream through the indescribable streets littered with bright and low light alike, a general calm sort of buzz in the air. Dream leaned against his shoulder as they walked, holding his hand in a gentle grip. Neither said a word, marvelling at the sights.

Did I forget to mention it was quite late at night?
It was 1 am. One in the morning and they'd seen basically everything there was to see. Now their footsteps tapped on the concrete, nearly silent in the busy nature of one of the biggest cities in Japan.  It was a few decent blocks to their hotel, but they liked walking better.
Cross and Dream ambled in silence along the slightly empty sidewalks. Even in the middle of the night, Tokyo was still a busy place.

"Crossy, look." Dream said softly, pointing across the road to a park, lit up with lanterns and fairy lights woven between the branches like the most intricate and delicate patient needed art of spiders webs, the kind of ones you see in trees covered in mildew that the spider worked so hard to make. The trees were all different shades of greens and pinks, arching over the pathway paved in soft-looking leaves. Every here and there, spots of pink would sit like sparrows on the grass, petals from cherry blossom trees.
"What is it Dreamy?~" The taller asked, following his gaze.
"That park. It's amazing isn't it?"
"Yes, it is"
"It'll be a shortcut to the hotel though"
"But its shut and locked, we can't go in"
"That's a mere restriction for humans. We can jump that!" Dream seemed to be insisting.
"You sure? It's like, chest height" Cross protested but Dreams eyes seemed to glimmer in excitement. Its yellow shade seemed to sparkle in the light.
"You've seen me jump a fence before" He smiled.
"That was only to the bottom of your sternum though-"
"Are you doubting me?" The smaller put his hands on his hips. "I can jump higher fences than you!"
Cross shifted his weight off his leading leg, ready to run. "Oh you're on now"
Before Cross could protest, Dream had taken off across the road and running towards the fence. "Hey! Get back here!" Cross yelled, "I wasn't ready!" Soon enough the taller was sprinting after him as he only just caught a glimpse of the 15.6 hand skeleton clearing the fence with ease, albeit stumbling when he landed on the other side. Cross was over shortly after as his 15.9 hand height gave him the advantage here. He landed flawlessly on the other side, chasing Dream through the park, their laughter clear as day through the otherwise silent trees.

A/N: The fence they jumped was 1.5 metres high, or 15.2 hands. To Dream, that's chest height
