50 - Hope

After a few days AJ was able to obtain the application for divorce. He immediately flew back to Manila to have it signed by Celestine but on his way to Faulkerson's house his anxiety slowly builds up.

This will be the first time he will see her again as he has not communicated with Celestine since they break up. He choose not to talk to her for the meantime as he knows that he would not able stop himself from getting her back. He does not want to correct his mistake that way.

He is certain that she is still hurting because of the break up plus the fact that he has not communicated with her since he left her in her condo unit added to her frustrations. She will definitely take the divorce papers in a different perspective. Celestine has a tendency of being narrow-minded when she is hurting and oftentimes refuses to understand the reasons.

He is a few kilometers away from her subdivision when he decided to make a left turn and spend some time at the mall to ponder on how to get Celestine sign the divorce paper without having a different notion about it.

He parked his car and walks around the mall not knowing the exact place where he wants to go. He stopped by a bakeshop and smiles when he sees Celestine's favorite cake displayed at the store. After a few minutes, he walks inside the store to buy Celestine her favorite red velvet cake but he literally froze when he sees the one standing at the counter.

"Babe ..." Celestine uttered. His heart beats fast because it's been days that he has not heard her calls him that endearment. But he got sadden when eventually Celestine takes back what she said. "I mean, AJ. What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Bibili sana ako ng red velvet cake." AJ briefly replied.

"Ang layo naman ng dinayo mo para sa red velvet cake. Di ba may malapit namang branch sa office nyo?" Celestine commented.

"Sino ang kasama mo?" He asked.

"Ako lang." Celestine replied.

"Bakit lumalabas ka nang mag-isa? You are not completely healed yet." AJ asked.

"Sus walking distance lang naman ang subdivision namin from here. Saka nag-crave lang naman ako sa cake and since bored na rin naman ako sa bahay kaya naisipan kong ako na lang ang bumili." Celestine replied. "May client meeting ka ba na malapit dito?" She asked and he shook his head.

"Nagmamadali ka ba? Would you like to have coffee with me?" AJ asked.

"Coffee is not good for me." Celestine replied and he got a small pinch on his chest as this is the first time that Celestine refused to have coffee with him.

"Pwede namang coffee sa akin, juice ang para sa iyo." AJ said.

"Sus eh di nainggit lang ako sa iyo." Celestine said.

"Pwede rin namang mag-fruit juice tayong dalawa. O kung hindi pwede ang fruit juice, pwede namang tubig." AJ insisted. This is what he is afraid of that was why he decided to keep his distance from Celestine. It's hard for him to let her go just like that.

"AJ hindi naman na kailangang ...." Celestine said when AJ interrupted her.

"Please Celestine, kahit ngayon lang, kahit ngayon na lang ulit." AJ said.

"Dito na lang tayo tutal halos wala namang tao. Since you insist, green mango shake for me please." Celestine said then walks to the corner table and waits for AJ.

After a while AJ came with a tray of two green mango shake and a slice of red velvet cake. "Kumakain ka na pala ngayon ng red velvet cake." Celestine commented.
