AJ walks fast going to the president's office. He is five minutes late on their meeting and he knows how the president values punctuality.
"Is he in?" AJ asked Lulu, Jake's secretary.
"Not yet, Sir AJ. Pero malapit na daw sya, he said he was calling you but you are not picking up." Lulu said.
"He did?" AJ said and quickly checks on his phone. "You are right, 5 missed calls from the President. Naka-silent mode pala ang phone ko." He further said.
"Text mo kaya, baka sabihin you are avoiding his call." Lulu suggested.
"Great idea. Sige balik na muna ako sa office ko, then call me agad kapag dumating sya." AJ said.
"Hintayin mo na lang kaya sa office nya." Lulu said.
"I will be more productive kung dun ako sa desk ko maghihintay, Lulu." AJ said.
"I agree with AJ, pero nandito na ako kaya hindi mo na kailangang bumalik sa station mo." Jake said in full authority.
"Good morning, Mr. President." AJ greeted.
"Good morning, AJ." Jakes said then taps AJ shoulder. "I'm sorry for being late." He apologized.
"It's alright po." AJ politely replied.
"Let's get inside. There's a lot that I want to discuss with you. By the way, yung pasalubong ni Hailey from Korea, pinahatid ko na sa office mo." Jake said while he and AJ walks inside the president's office.
"Korea? I thought sa Japan sya pupunta." AJ said.
"Nag-side trip sa Korea from Japan so don't worry kasama dun sa pinahatid ko sa office mo yung ipinabili mo kay Hailey sa Japan. At may specific instruction ang kinakapatid mo, tawagan mo raw sya once mareceive mo yung mga pinamili nya." Jake said.
"Thank you. Mr. President." AJ said.
"Dalawa na lang tayo dito, pwede namang Papa Ninong na ulit." Jake said.
"Thank you, Pa. I will call Hailey after our meeting." AJ said.
"And tell her to tone down a little sa mga trips nya abroad. Halos hindi na kami nagkikita." Jake said.
"I cannot do that, it is her job to travel around the world. Paano kikita ang traveling agency nya kung hindi sya magbibyahe?" AJ said.
"So para palang Mama Ninang mo, wala rin akong aasahan sa iyo." Jake said.
"Pa, hayaan mo na si Hailey, she is happy traveling to different countries eh." AJ said.
"I guess I have to get used to this kind of set-up." Jake said.
"Bakit naman kasi nag-iisa lang si Hailey na anak nyo." AJ said.
"Ganon talaga eh, after two miscarriages ng Mama Ninang mo, tinanggap na namin na si Hailey lang talaga ang biyaya ng Diyos para sa amin." Jake said.
"Anyway, so much for Hailey. Let's get down to business. Nabanggit ko naman na sa iyo yung bidding para sa isang malaking mall, right?" Jake said.
"Yes po. Dad said na-discuss na daw yan sa board. Are we really pushing to join the bidding? I thought hindi natin itutuloy kasi marami pa tayong on-going projects. Baka hindi kayanin ng resources natin kung papasukin natin yung bidding para sa mall, Papa." AJ said.
"I know your concern, AJ and I agree with you. But I want to push ourselves to the limit and be more aggressive this time. Therefore I want you to come-up with a plan. In case we won the bidding, how shall we attack this project na hindi naman maaapektuhan ang on-going projects natin." Jake said.
