27 - Invitation

The business deal between Graciana's Hardware store and FCC pushes through and Gara could not understand as she prefers to handle the account herself. She could not deny her fondness on Celestine and she got a bit sad as there is only a very slim chance for AJ and Celestine's togetherness as her eldest son claims to be in a relationship with a very special girl.

"Good morning, Mr. President." She delightfully greeted upon entering AJ's room.

"Mom, what a pleasant surprise. What are you doing here?" AJ asked.

"I want to see my son as the newly appointed president of EGCC." Gara replied.

"Anong masasabi mo, Mommy?" AJ asked.

"What else can I say but 'I am so proud of you son', not only me but your Dad, too." Gara replied.

"Hindi mo kasama si Dad?" AJ asked.

"Naiwan sa office. Alam mo naman ang Daddy mo, kung magtrabaho parang hindi pa namin na-meet ang target income for the year." Gara commented. "I came here not only to visit you but to distribute the invitation for GHS' anniversary." She added.

"Oo nga pala, next week nga pala ang anniversary ng GHS." AJ said.

"Hindi pwedeng hindi ka pupunta sa anniversary ng GHS. Magtatampo ako kapag wala ka sa celebration." Gara said.

"Ako pa ba ang mawawala sa celebration na yun. Matagal nang block ang date na yun sa calendar ko, Mommy." AJ replied.

"Mabuti naman kung ganon. Excited na ang mga kapatid mo sa celebration." Gara said.

"Eh lahat naman ng celebration excited si Grace at Benedict." AJ said.

"Well, this celebration is different. Your siblings are actually expecting that you will bring your special girl. They are thinking that GHS celebration maybe the right time for us to meet her." Gara said.

"Forget it, Mom. Hindi pa ngayon ang tamang oras para ipakilala ko sya sa inyo." AJ said.

"Fine, and since you don't want us to meet her now, may ipapakilala muna ako sa iyo. I'm sure you will like her, she is very beautiful, well-poised and has good breadings. I find her really smart, too. Hindi ko nga maintindihan bakit wala syang boyfriend despite those excellent qualities." Gara said.

"I don't have time for your match-making, Mom." AJ said. "That would be disrespectful to my girl." He added.

"All right, I guess hindi naman kita mapipilit. My curiosity on your girl is soaring high. Ano ba meron sya at parang hindi na kita mapapatingin sa ibang babae." Gara said.

"She has everything I want, Mom, so no need for me to look at other girls." AJ said.

"You are so in-love with this girl, Andrew, Jr." Gara uttered.

"Yes I am, Mom." AJ confidently replied.

"I am so happy for you, Son." Gara said. "Kung hindi lang talaga sobrang bata itong si Benedict, siya ang irereto ko kay Celestine eh." She uttered and AJ got surprised.

"Who is Celestine?" AJ asked.

"Celestine Faulkerson of FCC." Gara replied.

"si Celestine yung ipapakilala mo sa akin and you invited her to GHS' anniversary party?" AJ asked.

"Oo naman. Anak, I know she is from the rival construction firm but FCC is now our client." Gara said.

"Our client? Kelan pa Mommy?" AJ asked.
