Celestine became too busy preparing for the Cavite Subdivision project. Even if her Dad will not tell her, she knows he still wants another victory on the bidding project.
"Ms. Celestine, here is the proposal for Cavite Subdivision. I already validated the cost with the Financial Division, okay na raw sabi ni Sir Luis. I also checked with the Administration Division, and they say we will not have problem on the resources. Therefore, it is ready to be submitted to the Office of the President. By the way, Mr. President would like to see you in thirty minutes to discuss about it so I suggest you send it to him before your discussion." Nica said.
"Thank you for checking this for me. Paano na lang ako kung wala ka. Thank you Nics." Celestine said.
"That is my job, Ms. Celestine. But you are welcome." Nica said.
"Your job is to help me ease my job and not to do my job." Celestine said. "Halos ikaw na ang gumawa nitong proposal." She further commented
"Sa yo naman galing ang concept on of the whole proposal including the design, I just put those in writing. Also, validating the data in the proposal will ease your job and that becames my job." Nica said.
"I'm really happy to have you in my team, Nics." Celestine said.
"I am happier to be in your team Ms. Celestine. This is my dream job." Nica said.
"Huh? Really? Being an executive assistant is your dream job?" Celestine said.
"Yes ma'am. I admire your father so much and I know that you will be like him someday. And I want to be part of your journey to presidency." Nica replied.
"You admire Dad? Matagal na ba kayong magkakilala before ka na-hire dito sa FCC?" Celestine asked.
"Madalas akong dinadala ni Mama dito sa FCC noong bata pa ako. Papa was FCC an employee. Kasama sya ng Dad mo when he sits as FCC President. Ipinakiusap nya kay President Richard na maipasok ako dito sa FCC when he retired. I want to be like my Papa, I would like to serve the FCC President, too. Di ba may program ang FCC na scholarship ng employees dependent. I was one of those FCC's scholars. " Nica replied.
"Really? Who is your father, do I know him?" Celestine asked.
"My father is Peter Sanchez, the former head of Finance Department." Nica replied
"Oh anak ka pala ni Sir Pete. I'm sorry I did not know that small detail of you." Celestine apologized.
"It's alright, Ms. Celestine." Nica replied.
"Hindi naman kasi binanggit ni Dad na tatay mo si Sir Pete. It means you were the 'Vec-vec' he was talking about. You father is so proud of you Nics." She explained.
"Nakakahiya kasi you are my first full pledge staff tapos yung ganong ka-simpleng detail about you, na-miss ko pa. To think Sir Pete was one of my mentors, hindi ko man lang naisip na anak ka nya. Lessons learned, I should have read my staff's resume before I work with them." Celestine said.
"Perhaps, hindi kasi ako kamukha ni Papa. Mas kamukka ko si Mama eh kaya hindi mo naisip na anak nya ako." Nica said.
"How old are you na nga, Nica?" Celestine asked.
"I'm 26 years old." Nica replied.
"Two years pala ang tanda mo sa akin. Parang ate na pala kita." Celestine said.
"Yes. It would be an honor kung ituturing mo akong ate." Nica briefly replied.
"Since anak ka naman pala ni Sir Pete, pwede na akong mag-relax. I'm sorry, Nica and I hope you understand if I don't trust you at first." Celestine said
