Chapter 26 | Sweater Weather

When I finally woke up, I could see Kayla was up and getting ready for the event. "Please come today!" Kayla begged. I sighed and nodded. Only because I love meeting the fans...I actually have fans :)!

I got in the shower and afterwards I blow dryed my hair. I straightened it and put on a little bit of makeup. I put on a gray tanktop with the starbucks logo and white skinny jeans. I slid on my gray vans and we walked down to the lobby to meet the boys.

Hayes came up behind me and hugged me. I pushed myself out of his arms and walked to the other side of the group. He gave me a weird look and walked over to stand by me. I rolled my eyes and just stood there.

We all walked outside and walked to the limo. Hayes sat beside me and I rolled my eyes and looked away. "You ok?" He asked. I shook my head, trying so hard to fight the tears. "What's wrong babe?" He asked. I sighed and buried my face in my hands.

I felt hayes tap me sometimes but I just kept my face buried in my hands.

After what seemed like forever, we were at the event. I waited for everyone to get out, and I got out last.

I walked in and stood by the table of snacks. I found a bowl of pretzels and grabbed a couple and walked over to a couch they had backstage and sat down.

Kayla came over and sat beside me. "What's wrong bae?" She asked. I sighed and showed her the picture. Her jaw dropped. "Oh my gosh!" She yelled. "Have you not seen it?" I asked. She shook her head. "No! When was this taken?" "Yesterday at the event. How could he do this?"

Kayla shook her head and hugged me. "I'm so sorry Kat. I'm here for you if you wanna talk." I nodded and smiled. "Thanks Kayla." She smiled and they called our names for us to go up on stage.

We all were called out and introduced and we goofed around a little bit. I did some dances and helped Mahogay dj a little bit.

"Hey, I have an idea! Let's take some dares from the crowd!" Taylor yelled. The crowd roared and we all agreed. All of us sat in these chairs that were arranged in a line. I sat on the opposite end of Hayes, and I could see him looking at me out of the corner of my eye sometimes. I hate this. I really miss him..but how could he do this?

I was interrupted from my thoughts by a short little girl with long brown hair being called on.

"My name's Mariah, and I dare Kat to sing for us."

I felt my stomach start to turn. "I don't really sing in front of crowds..." I said into the microphone. "DO IT!" The crowd and some of the boys yelled. I sighed and handed my phone to Mahogany to play a song. "Play Sweater Weather," I said.

She nodded and I sat back down in my seat and started to sing.

When I finished singing, everyone started clapping and cheering. I couldn't help but blush and I sat back down. We took a few more dares and that part of the event was over. We got a break, then meet and greet and photo ops, then the event was over.

When we got back backstage everyone started chanting my name. I smiled and bowed. Hayes hugged me and I just stood there, not hugging back. He sighed, let go, and walked away. I think he's starting to get the hint that I'm not happy with him.

I walked out of the room and went to the restroom. I shut the stall door and felt my phone buzz. I looked at it and saw I had a text from Haylee from an hour ago. I opened it and her message said:

I'm sick today, and I don't wanna get ur bf sick when we kiss so I'll stay home today. go to the event, have fun. oh and ur bf is a fab kisser xxx

My stomach got a sharp pain and I decided to go back to the room. On my way out, I was scrolling through Twitter. Some people recorded me singing and posted it to twitter, instagram, and youtube. People were telling me to make a YouTube account. Sounds fun. I might.

As I was scrolling and replying to tweets, I ran into a girl with long light brown hair and really tan skin. "Hi, I'm Clarissa!" She said. I smiled. "Aw, hey, I'm Kat." "I know, I love you." I smiled and blushed. "I love you too!"

"Will you follow me on Twitter and take a selfie with me?" I nodded. "Of course!" I followed her on Twitter and took a selfie with her. One with us smiling, and one with us being silly. "Thank you so much!" She said, hugging me. "Welcome, love you beautiful." She squealed and ran away. I smiled. Aw. My first selfie with a fan.

The meet and greet finally ended. I got a few pictures with some girls but for the most part I sat back with Kayla, Katie, and Caroline.

We all left and went back to the hotel, and we ordered pizza again. I grabbed a slice and walked over to a chair and sat down. Everyone was goofing around and I was just eating my pizza, scrolling through Twitter.

I got a text from Hayes.

"Hey, can we step outside and talk?"

I rolled my eyes and ignored it. I closed out of the messages and got back on Twitter. My phone buzzed with another text from Hayes.

"Please Kat. Just for a minute."

I looked up at him and he was staring at me. He gave me a "I know what I did was wrong, please talk to me" look. I sighed and nodded my head and walked out of the room with him.

I crossed my arms and sat down in the hall with my back against the wall. Before Hayes could say anything I couldn't help but jump up and yell.

"How could you Hayes!?" I yelled. "How could I what??" He asked. "Kiss Haylee!" I said, trying to lower my voice a little bit. He bowed his head down. "Oh..that." "Yeah, Hayes, that!"

"She kissed me! I didn't do anything! Someone snapped the picture right when she kissed me. Haylee jumped on Cam's back and he said she was heavy and then she came and sat on my lap and said "Am I heavy?" And I just said "No you're beautiful," because every girl is beautiful. And she kissed me! I didn't kiss back though. I wouldn't do that to you. I-I love you Kat."

I gasped. We haven't said I love you yet except for in a friend way. I could feel myself start to blush. He smirked a little and I couldn't help but smile back.

"I love you too Hayes!" I exclaimed, hugging him. "I missed you," he whispered. I didn't say anything, just nodded.

I'm still upset because I still have those texts from Haylee to worry about.
