"Where the hell were you?" Tsuyu crushed you in a hug as she growled at the blonde. Bakugou held up his hands in defense, too tired to be snarky. "It's nearly ten! Where the fu-" She paused, seemingly looking down at you. "What could you need so late at night? And why did you leave without telling me, kero?"
"I forgot some stuff at the bus, and Bakugou offered to take me to get them." Tsuyu sighed, pulling you away from her so she could see if anything was wrong.
"And what happened to your forehead?!" She yelped, glaring at Bakugou. "Did you hurt her again? Goddamnit Bakugou!"
"Tsu!" You screeched, trying to calm her down. "He didn't do it! I fell, okay? He wouldn't let me leave without a bandage." She gave you a questioning look, making sure you weren't just trying to protect him. After seeing no hint of deception on your features, she sighed.
"Fine. But both of you need sleep. We're planning on moving out at noon tomorrow." Bakugou nodded, walking back to his tent and grumbling. Tsuyu led you back to your shared tent, refusing to let go of your hand. You hung your head in shame as you both walked in silence.
"I'm sorry Tsu. I thought Shouta would tell you. I didn't mean to make you worry."
"It's fine (Y/N). If you told someone then I guess you did what you were supposed to." She gave you an uncertain smile, letting you into the tent first.
"I should've told you, though. I'm really sorry, Tsu." Tears prickled in your eyes, but you held them back. No more crying, not for tonight.
"Hey, calm down, kero. You're alright, nobody got hurt, everything's fine. Let's just sleep, alright? Amalie already fell asleep while you were gone." You nodded, finally agreeing to sleep.
By the time you woke up the next morning, people were already packing up. It was nearly ten, probably a little later, when you finally got up. Bakugou had made breakfast while everyone else picked up or played around with their equipment to make sure it was working.
Tsuyu was sitting next to Bakugou as he cooked, still covered by her blanket. Neither of them said anything for a few minutes. Yet, just as you started walking to them, Tsuyu started talking.
"Thanks for helping (Y/N) last night." She croaked, a little below her normal speaking voice. "She gets worried without her things, and you saved her from at least one panic attack."
"I practically forced her to go. She kept trying to tell me she was fine without that shit, but it was obvious she was a few minutes away from one." Tsuyu seemed startled by that, going a bit quiet before letting out a small laugh.
"I guess that describes her pretty well, kero. She doesn't let people in unless she's sure she can't bother them." Bakugou looked back at the froggish girl, a confused expression on his face.
"And that's funny why?" Tsuyu's laugh died a bit.
"It's not, kero. I'm just not sure how else to react when talking about her problems." She sighed, looking down. "I just wish she'd tell me something. It doesn't have to be deep, but I hardly know any of the reasons behind what she does. She doesn't make any noise around her siblings, yet she adores mine. She gets nightmares of something, but never says what. She doesn't tell anyone what happened while she was with the league, but ninety percent of her habits come from those months."
"She's probably been trained not to tell, dumbass." Now it was Tsuyu's turn to look confused. "I mean, why wouldn't the league force her to keep goddamn quiet? There's always the chance she'd escape, and then what? They can't just have her talking shit about them to the police. She might hate it, but it's what she's been trained to do." You shook your head a bit, finally approaching them. You couldn't stand listening to them dissect your actions as if you were a puzzle.
"Good morning." You yawned, sitting next to Tsuyu. She wrapped her blanket around your arms, trying to keep you warm too. "What were you talking about?"
"It's not important, kero. How did you sleep?" So she wasn't going to tell you then? Who's keeping stuff from the other now,Tsu?
You yawned again, hiding your hurt feelings with a smile. "No nightmares, so pretty well." She returned the smile and let you snuggle into her shoulder, Bakugou looking away as the wind pricked your skin. "Are you guys ready for tonight?" You asked, breaking the silence again.
"Hell yeah. I can't wait to meet the triplets, (Y/N)." Tsuyu moved a bit, granting you view of the bright smile adorning her features. You gave her a grin, unsure of whether it was fake or not.
"Hey, Bakugou?"
"What do you need, pipsqueak?" He growled, half angry and half out of habit.
"Thanks for taking me to the bus last night. You saved me from a lot of panic attacks." He nodded, grunting as he turned back around. "Also, thanks for making me stay put for you to get a bandage. You were right, Tsu would've boiled you alive if I'd come back without one."
Bakugou turned around again to give you a curious look.
"Why are you telling me this? I know round face told you that I'm an asshole and everything else that those extras think. Don't you believe them?"
"Not really." You shrugged, forgetting that Tsuyu's arm was around your shoulder. "You've been really nice to me so far. You defended me when that guy tried to take me, defended me to Kaminari, Jirou, and Tsu, and you made sure I was okay. If that's not hero material, then I don't think anyone is cut out for that job."
"I still don't get it, pipsqueak." He chuckled, turning back around to face the fire. "I didn't defend you. I pointed out facts that they ignored. I didn't help you with that guy. I wouldn't even have known he was there if damn Deku hadn't stopped the whole party to get you. And your mumbling was annoying." You smiled, holding back a small laugh as he smiled at the fire. "But thanks, pipsqueak. You're pretty cool too."
"If you two are done being gushy, can I ask a question, kero?"
"Fire away Tsu."
"When did you start calling her pipsqueak? Actually, why don't you call any of us by our names?" Bakugou turned a bit red, trying to avoid looking.
"She's pipsqueak because she's small and vulnerable, but you shouldn't underestimate her. And who fucking cares?!"
"Bakugou, calm down. Is it because you can't remember their names?" Bakugou threw down his stick.
"Hell no! I'm not a fucking idiot!"
