Hair Dye-Not Main Story

 "Are you sure?"

"I'm almost positive. Kirishima said your hair was probably too dark to take to the dye on its own." You snapped the gloves as you pulled them on, giving Tsu an evil grin. "Which means bleach and toner for the parts you want to dye."

"My hair's going to be dead after this, isn't it?" You gave her a closed eyed smile and nodded, to which she responded with a sigh. "Alright, whatever. I trust your lead here, kero."

The dyeing process was interesting. You didn't make a huge mess with the hair dye like you thought you would, but the application on the other hand, that got a bit destructive.

Your gloves had somehow managed to tear before you'd even started applying the bleach. You didn't notice until you'd finished, though the bleach didn't sting like you'd thought it would if you got some on yourself. It didn't take long to apply the bleach, since Tsuyu had decided to be a coward and only dye the bottom part in a fade to her natural hair.

You glopped it on thick at the very ends, and applying less and less the further up you went. You may have been new to this, but you'd watched enough Brad Mondo videos to have figured out that you needed to apply bleach to every hair. No soldiers left behind.

Though, now Tsuyu had to live with a shit ton on bleach on the ends of her hair for almost an hour. You offered the idea of watching a movie while you both waited, but Tsuyu turned that down on account of the fact that she didn't want to accidentally get bleach on the furniture. You caved, agreeing that Aizawa getting mad about that wouldn't be fun.

So then there was the struggle of finding something to do to pass the time. You couldn't watch a movie, Cards Against Humanity required more people, and jamming out to Hamilton could potentially end with bleach flung at the wall (or murder, if the Reynolds Pamphlet comes on). So what was left to do?

Well, that's a dangerous thing to ask. With Tsu's willingness to do pretty much anything and your absurd and sometimes dangerous ideas, the two of you shouldn't have been allowed to make decisions on your own anyways.

You ended up downstairs, you sitting on the kitchen island while Tsuyu gathered a bunch of food. Chocolate, some of the sweets that Sato had left in the fridge for anyone, and choccy milk. The last one was your request, and Tsuyu was happy to oblige. Choccy milk is choccy milk, after all.

You'd both decided to hole up in the living room while you waited for Tsuyu's hair to lighten, since any sleep deprived student walking in would be confused beyond their wildest dreams. You put on T.O.T.S. and Tsuyu sat halfway between the TV and the couch, staring unnervingly hard at the screen. You sat on the couch behind her, curled in a fetal position against the armrest and staring with the same intensity. The TV being the only light in the room made the entire scene twenty times better.

Kaminari walked in at one point. You both were so caught up in T.O.T.S. that you didn't see the look of confusion and horror. You did, however, notice when he joined you for a bit to watch one of the episodes. No questions about Tsu's hair, or the lights being off, or the choice of show. He sat and watched just as intensely as you both, which you appreciated.

After two episodes, there were only ten minutes until Tsuyu had to wash out her hair. So you reluctantly started the depressing trek upstairs to a shower head that she could wash out the bleach with.

It had lightened enough first try, so next was toner.

Toner is hard to mix with developer, let me tell you right now. The liquidy, almost oily texture makes it really hard to combine, especially considering the creamy texture of developer. Still, you managed it with minor casualties. Rest in peace, that one piece that flew out of the container because you were mixing too violently.

By the time it was well combined, your arm was in pain from using it so much. And you'd mixed too much, which made application feel wasteful. You ended up plopping all of it on her hair and spreading it around evenly, though it was way too much. Then it was back downstairs for another episode of T.O.T.S. before washing that out, which Kaminari didn't join you for again.

You were afraid to wash out the toner, not knowing if the amount was going to change the results. Luckily for you, it came out with shampoo and conditioner. Still, the initial refusal to become not silver with just water started to scare you.

Now, you were supposed to wait 24 hours after bleaching your hair to dye it. However, Tsuyu insisted on just doing it right away since it wasn't that late and she really wanted her hair done quickly. So you relented and agreed to mix more developer with what was now actual dye.

Tsuyu had chosen pink. You didn't doubt that it would look cute on her, but pink concerned you a bit. It was really bright, and might come out quickly. Still, Tsuyu assured you that if it did she wouldn't mind.

Another hour of waiting, and you could finally wash out the dye.

You stopped breathing for a second there, you disaster gay.

She was amazingly adorable with pink hair, and the flip of it over her shoulder almost sent you into cardiac arrest. She towel dried it, not wanting to deal with a hair dryer at 11 at night, and soon you were both back downstairs. This time, Kaminari and the rest of the class had joined you in watching T.O.T.S. and you finally got to cuddle up to Tsuyu on the couch.

Although most students had woken up before you the next morning and moved in hopes that nobody would notice, you'd all fallen asleep in the living room that night.
