"How are you feeling?" The greenette finally spoke up after a long while of silence. You shrugged, not really having an answer. There wasn't really a way to describe how you felt nothing and everything at once that would make sense.

Silence fell over the room again, making you both feel awkward. It was almost suffocating to you, being surrounded by silence that you couldn't fill.

Luckily for both of you, a breath of relief could be released when a nurse came in to check your vitals and to make sure you were comfortable. When she was done, instead of leaving right away like normal, she stood next to your bed and across from Tsuyu.

"You can leave tomorrow. You're always welcome to stay another few days, but you're healed enough to go back to your home tomorrow."

You put serious thought into this offer. What would happen if you did go home like this? Surely your siblings would hat it. Would your parents even be home to notice? And what would happen if there was some sort of attack while you were at home? You highly doubted that your siblings would call an ambulance for you.

"(Y/N)?" Tsuyu broke you out of your thoughts, making you jump a little. "Do you want to go back to the dorms tomorrow, kero?"

"Dorms?"

"We share a dorm in the 1A dorms, kero. It's to keep you protected, Aizawa-sensei made sure you'd be safe with us."

You responded with a hesitant nod, letting the nurse leave the room again. A small breath escaped your lips at the idea of avoiding going home.

Another hour later, and Tsuyu was asleep. You wouldn't be able to fall unconscious for another few hours at least, so you needed something to do.

Watching TV sounded boring, you didn't have any books with you, Amalie was also asleep, so you couldn't play with her. You would go on your phone, but it was almost dead and the screen was bright even if you turned down the setting all the way.

You took a deep breath. Were you about to do this? It looked like it. Was it a good idea? Nobody knows. Would you regret it immensely? Oh, for sure. But what did you do? You opened your mouth, and started singing softly.

"I'm standing on the borderline, what should I bring or leave behind, from who I was, for who I'm gonna be?" Your soft voice rang out in the near silent room. Tsuyu turned her head slightly, and you stopped, waiting.

After a while, she hadn't moved again. You assumed it was safe to continue.

"I, still haven't packed my bags, it's time to go, and I could not care less." You played with your fingers as your hands rested in your lap. "So now I'll miss the train, a walk's still progress made, I just won't arrive quite as fast." You could feel Amalie moving around slightly under your hair, reacting to the music.

Again, you stopped. Tsuyu had moved slightly again, this time hiding her face. It was an odd position, but you didn't doubt that she was still asleep considering how your brother used to sleep.

"I'm thinking way back, to where I'm from, to the things I had. I feel I've forgotten something, I'm sure that it's probably nothing, but that's based more on fear than on fact." The line brought a small smile to your features. Your voice was still soft as ever, hardly recognizable in all honesty.

The lyrics to your favorite Thomas Sanders song rang out in the room, quiet but clear. You let yourself relax into the bed, closing your eyes, and letting Tsuyu's movements escape you.

"I'm standing on the borderline, between two states I'm petrified, to push ahead, or turn back homewardly. I'm a shadow of the past, the shadow of a boy, a boy who couldn't last. They said, 'Son, don't change," and I keep hoping they won't see how much I have." Your voice wavered slightly, connecting the story in the music to your own world. You hadn't seen it before, you liked the song for the beat and the message, so why can you identify with it?

"(Y/N)? Are you okay? You haven't blinked in a couple minutes, kero." Tsuyu pulled you out of your stupor, making you jump so hard that you nearly feel out of the bed.

"I'm fine," You signed once you'd collected your breath. "Just thinking. How long have you been awake?"

"Since 'it just won't arrive quite as fast', kero. I forgot how calming your voice is." She let out a quiet laugh, making your heart speed up at her smile.

"You should've told me." Tsuyu cocked her head at you, confused as to why you were pouting.

"But then you would've stopped singing, and I don't have your guitar here, and you need sleep, kero. Plus your voice is really pretty." Your face burned red, making you thankful for the darkness of the room.

"Are you going to go back to sleep?" Tsuyu shook her head, giving you a small smile that made your heart jump.

"I'm gonna stay up until you fall asleep, kero. I can't very well bring back my tired soulmate to our dorm, now can I?" Your heart skipped a beat, rising quickly in it's pace.

Sure, she was cute, but you had a great fear of getting close to anyone after these past few months-or, really, the few months a few months ago. You couldn't be sure that anyone was safe, not after the league and the people in it.

Still, you nodded, agreeing to try and fall asleep as the room fell silent again.
