Silent. Cold. Black. Endless. I don't know who I am, or where I am. I can't move. I can't breathe, but I don't need a breath. It's strange. I think. I don't know why I'm here. I try to scream, but nothing comes out. Only one thing breaks this endless darkness. A piercing, cold, blue gaze.
And I run away from it.

My head springs off my pillow. I look at my clock. It's around nine. What a strange dream. I look around my room for a few minutes before I shake my covers off, and walk to the kitchen. I expect to find my parents there, but they aren't. The house seems so quiet. Too quiet. See, my father does YouTube, known as Jacksepticeye, and he is never quiet. I look for a note explaining why they left, but I don't find one. Concern grips my heart as I check a final spot. Their room. I panic when I don't see them, but the decide to check the recording room. I breathe a sigh of relief as I see my dad. Until I look at him. He looks into spare unblinkingly, bags under him eyes. His frame seems so small, and fragile. He looks almost ten years older.
"Dad?" He doesn't respond. "Hey, Dad, you okay?" I place a hand on his shoulder. He shudders, then cries into his hands. My eyes widen. I wrap my arms around him. I'm slightly scared. I've never seen him this way. I take note that I don't see mom anywhere. Maybe they had a fight. I wouldn't make sense though, they don't fight often, o probably would have woken up. And since when does she leave when they fight? Dad shudders again as sobs wrack his body. I kiss the top of his head like he does for me. "I will go get some water. You calm down, then tell me what's wrong." If he heard me, he doesn't show it. I creep out of the room, then go back to the kitchen. I notice the calendar. It's digital, and tell the day, month, and number.
I'm confused to see it say Wednesday, April 16th, which was yesterday. My birthday. We went out for dinner after I opened presents. I am now 15 and can't wait to start driving. Must be broken. I fill the water glass, then make my way back to the recording room. I set the glass of the table with a thump. My fathers head shoots up, and he stares at the glass in shock. He scans the room looking right over me. "Dad?" I wave my hand in front of my face, but he doesn't react. I laugh. "Okay, haha, funny prank. Where's the camera? And mom?" He doesn't respond. I just now notice the bottles of beer littered on the table, and the half empty bottle of Jack Daniels. How did I not notice this. Scared, I rush out of the room. He wasn't prancing me, he was drunk. What the hell? He had a drink every now and then, but never like that. I'm so confused as to what happened. I go back to my room to find my phone, but can't find it. I have to call Uncle Felix. I look for either of my parents phone. I search the kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom, and living room before finding my dads phone after throwing some cushions on the couch around.
I dial Uncle Felix, and hear it ring. A voice breaks through in a few moments. "Jack? I'm surprised to hear from you today." I tilt my head. "What do you mean? Anyway, it's (Y/n), Uncle Felix. Dad is drunk, and I can't find Mom. I don't know what's going on." There's a pause. "Jack, are you there? Bud, I know how hard this is. She would have been 21 today." I pull the phone back to see if it's muted. It's not. I pull the phone back up. "Uncle Felix, this is serious. It's (Y/n)." I say a bit louder. Another pause. "I don't know who you are, or how you have this phone. If your a fan, you should know you've gone too far. Return the phone, and never call this number again." And then he hangs up. I look down at the phone in shock. "What the hell?" I hear a stumbling in the recording room. I rush back to see Dad stumbling around the room. I notice the waters gone, so he's a little more sober.
He gets his footing. "Where is it?" He looks around the room in a frantic search for something. He exits the room, me in tow. "Dad! What is going on?" He ignores me yet again. "I'm hearing things again." He mumbles, continuing to walk. He goes into his room where I watch him find what he was looking for. A necklace. I can't see it well though. Wordlessly, he grabs his keys, then exits the house. I rush after him, making it in the car just as he turns the key. He jumps at the car opening and closing. "Wind..." I'm confused. "Why are you ignoring me?" I whisper. If he heard me, he doesn't show it. Just drives with laser focus. We drive in silence for 20 minutes before we stop in the middle of a cemetery. "Why are we here?" I ask. He gets out with the necklace. I follow. "Who are we visiting?" Again, no answer. We walk a short distance to a flat marble headstone on the ground. Extravagant carvings surround the words. I read the headstone.

Beautiful Daughter

Taken so Young
But remembered forever
2005-2020I look down at the stone with tears in my eyes, and my mouth hanging open in shock. "No....I was just here yesterday. This can't be! Dad! This isn't funny!" I rush to him, and hug his waist tightly. But he doesn't acknowledge me other then a shudder, like he's cold. I know now why he could see me, why he was shocked by things I moved, why he thought my voice was him hearing things. He kneels in front of the marble slate. Tears fall from my face. "Hey septic baby." He says, using my old nickname. "You would have been 21 today. Can you believe it?" He breaks down, going from a smile to a frown. "I'm so sorry, baby. I miss you so much, everyday. I wish you were here. After the accident...." he takes a shaky breath. "I haven't been the same. Neither has mom. We miss you. She took it better then me, she always took everything better then me.....but this....were broken....here's a birthday present." He says. He delicately places the necklace across the headstone. I can see it clearly now.
It's a silver heart locket. He left the locket open to show a picture of the three of us. Mom and Dad have big wide smiles on their faces, one of them on each side of me. I was hidden behind BB, his fur covering the majority of my face. I fall to my knees beside my Dad. "I love you, (Y/n)." He kisses his fingers, then presses them to the headstone. He stands to head back to the car, but I don't follow. I sob into my hands. I'm startled a few moments later, with a hand on my shoulder. I gasp, and look behind me to see a man in a trench coat looking at me. "(Y/n) McLoughlin. I have been looking for you for a long time." He says. "What?" I ask. "I am Castiel. I'm an angel of the Lord. The reapers needed help catching you. I tried, but you always ran from me." He sighed, his voice sounding tired and gravelly. "The blue eyes." I notice, looking at his bright blue eyes. He nods. "Time for you to go where you belong." He doesn't say it with malice of intent, just with sympathy. "What happened?" I whisper. He frowns.
On your birthday, six years ago, another driver hit your car on the way home from dinner. You died from impact, while your parents got away from it with a few broken bones. Your father blamed himself because he was driving. Your mother visits her parents every year for comfort while he gets drunk and visits your grave. Every year, you come back for a day, but you never followed him here. He was the worst this year. I'm sorry." I nod. "Give me one second." He nods. I run back to where the car was. Lucky for me, Dad is still there. He leans on the hood of the car, rubbing his face. No wonder he seemed older. Because he is. "Hey Daddy." Tears flow as he looks in my direction, not quite at me but close. "It's me, okay, really me. I'm... going to go away now. I've hung on too long. But I love you, and Mom. It's not your fault. Goodbye, Dad." I kiss his cheek and see him look at the ground. Tears flow down, and his mouth hangs open a bit. "I love you..." He whispers. Satisfied, I go back to Castiel.
"Okay, I'm ready to go now." He nods and holds his hand out. I'm about to take it, but I hesitate. "Do you know where I'm going?" I ask. He shakes his head. "I'm sorry. I don't." I nod. "Sorry, one more thing." I go back to the stone, and grab the locket, clasping it around my neck. "Cas...can I call you that?" He nods. "You know where I have been, why didn't you just come get me and explain it?" He thinks thoughtfully. "Ive always thought that this is what you needed. Besides, it's given me something other then wars and hunting." He answers. I tilt my head. "Angels hunt?" He shakes his head. "Never mind. Are you ready now?" I look back in my fathers direction, and somehow, I can feel that he will be okay. I nod. "I am." And I take his hand.
