(Y/n) P.O.V.

"Nate, honey?" I call out, searching around the house for my boyfriend. I haven't seen him in awhile. "Nate!" I search further, finding a note on the kitchen counter.

(Y/n), I have a surprise for you. Meet me at our favorite place.

Our favorite place? There's only one place I can think of. For our first date, Nate took me to a beach. But, being on the eastern coast in October, it was cold. Instead of swimming we explored the cliffs and caves along the stretch of beach. There was one place that we found that was absolutely breathtaking. We found a hidden grotto, the cave minerals making the area illuminate colors of purple of green. We went there everytime we went to that beach until the area was eventually closed off. Could this really be what Nate meant?

Only one way to find out.

I get into my car, making the drive over to the sandy shore. I'm relaxed by the familiar traits. The smell of the salty air, the sound of the crashing waves, the feeling of sand between my toes. I take light steps towards the grotto, expecting to see the barriers and signs telling tourists to stop. But there are none. Breaking into a smile, because Nate had to have done something, I start running excitedly. I miss the colors, and the little pond. I halt at the entrance. "Nate?"

I take a few cautious steps inside, a gorgeous scene greeting me. There are candles lit, formed into a heart. The flames' light somehow making the natural coloration brighter. Inside the heart sits Nate, sitting cross legged. He's smiling, looking proud that I've figured it out. "What is all this?" I question in awe. Nate stands, taking my hand and pulling me into the circle. "I wanted this to be extra special. Something for us." I tilt my head. "What do you mean?"

"(Y/n), for as long as I've know you, I couldn't stop smiling. I love you with every fiber of my being. When we first set our eyes on this place, and you said it was beautiful, I agreed. But I wasn't looking at the lights. I was looking at the absolutely perfect person in front of me. (H/c) bouncing, (e/c) eyes bright. Your face filled with so much joy. This was the place I knew that I would one day ask this very important question." Still holding my hand, Nate kneels, pulling a box out of his pocket. My mouth opens in surprise.

"(Y/n) (M/n) (L/n), will you marry me?" I cover my mouth as it breaks into a giant smile, tears of happiness trickling down my cheeks. "Yes, Nate! I will marry you!" He stands up, allowing me to jump into his arms jubilantly. Nate swings me around in a circle, holding tightly. He stops, planting a kiss on my lips. "I love you." He says, sliding the ring onto my finger. "Then kiss me again, fiance."
