Lifeguard {Mark x DogReader}

I wrote this as kinda a part two to Puppy Love, but it can be a stand alone. I feel like Chica would have attempted to save Mark and Ethan if she felt like there was actually danger. Dogs can read our emotions better then we can through movements and tone of voice. Because no one else was panicked, and they didn't really feel scared, she knew there was no actual threat. However, a puppy wouldn't totally be able to differentiate that yet ;)

Third Person P.O.V.

The large golden dog sat around the pool while the now six month old (favorite breed) puppy was excitedly sniffing everything as Mark and Ethan explained the concept of the video. "Also, (Y/n) hasn't been in the water yet, so we'll see how she reacts to the water." The two men, whether creative or idiotic we'd never know, splashed and shouted around in the pool pretending to drown. Chica didn't seem very concerned, but the small puppy was becoming increasingly stressed. As much as Chica attempted to soothe (Y/n), telling her that they were just doing human things, the pup wasn't so sure. Her whimpers could be heard by all from her tiny lungs. She didn't want to touch the strange bathtubs water, but felt like she had to save her friend.

(Y/n) was pacing the edges of the pool when Marks cries finally got to her. "Ah, (Y/n), help!" He groaned. The puppy's first action was to bark, trying to gain the attention of others. She ran up to Amy, barking wildly, and back to the pool. She repeated this roundabout multiple times, growing frustrated when Amy would not follow her. She couldn't understand why no one else was concerned. Fed up with everyone else's incapability to understand her basic command, (Y/n) leapt into the pool. The initial shock of the cold water hardly effected her, being too determined to get to Mark. Her little legs paddled swiftly and with great effort, but she managed to reach Mark. Upon her arrival, Mark stop thrashing around, grabbing her collar loosely to make her think she had him, and followed her back to the stairs.

"Such a good girl, (Y/n)! Thank you! You're a hero!" Mark was cheering. (Y/n) tail wagged happily, just happy he was alright, and unaware that she was dooped, licking his face in an attempt of comfort. "I can't believe she really did that." Ethan was laughing along the sides of the pool. Chica was looking at the puppy in a mixture of disappointment, pride, and amusement. And (Y/n)? Well she was just continuing to question why no one else bothered to help.
