Once the baby sitter is here, I will be on my way

Okay, can't wait to see you!

Me neither!

I smile at the messages between me and this lovable man. This is going to be our third date, and I couldn't be happier. J.J doesn't know who I'm with, but she understands that I'm going on dates. She really wants to meet him, and I can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees it's Nate. If this date goes well, maybe I'll invite him back. I hear the doorbell ring, and I rush to answer. "Hey Mom, thank you so much for doing this." I say, letting her inside. "Of course dear, but when can I meet him." I chuckle. "I'm not sure." I decide. "Grandma!" A little voice shrieks in delight. J.J bounds into the room, her curls flying behind her. My mom lifts J.J, and spins her around. "Hello, my nipotina!" Mom had recently taken up speaking in Italian, and J.J loved it. The small girl giggles.

I kiss J.J's head. "Be good for Grandma, alright?" She nods. "Yes, Mommy." I smile. "Bye you two! Love you!" I give a slight wave before leaving. I get in my car and make my way to the restaurant with excitement.

I take a seat across from Nate. "Hey." I smile. He blushes slightly when he sees me. "Hi. You look amazing." He says. Now I blush. "Not so bad yourself." I say, noticing his white button up and combed hair. He reaches his hand out, which I take. "I've really enjoyed getting to know you." He says. "Me too." I'm smiling wide. "I-I thought we should define us. I know you have your daughter to think of, but if you want to, I'd really like for us to be in a steady relationship." He seems nervous, like I might reject him. "Oh Nate, I'd love to." He let's put a sigh of relief, and smiles at me. "You know Nate, you're the best thing that has happened to me since J.J." Nate looks into my eyes, a loving smile on his face. Words can't express the look he gives me besides him being one of those memes that go 'get a guy that looks at you like so and so looks at so and so.'

"Your food has arrived." We both feel back, slightly startled by the waitress. She laughs at us a little. She is a bit older, with a few strands of graying hair, and gives us that look mother's give their teenagers. "What a lovely couple." She comments, setting our food on the table. "Thank you." I call as she starts to walk away. "My mom already wants to meet you. So does J.J." I say, taking a bite of my favorite dish. He looks at me, confused. "Didn't I already meet J.J?" He jokes. I chuckle. "She doesn't know who I have been going out with." I answer. "And you mom?" "She babysits J.J, and I talk about you a lot." I admit shyly. He chuckles. "Well, if it makes you feel better, I've talked about enough that my fans want to meet you." I remember him telling me about YouTube. "Well then, I'll have to wow them with my cute child." I joke. He laughs. "The internet loves adorable things." He nods his head as if considering this. "She would steal your show, though." I smile, and catch him staring. "What?" I ask, still smiling. "You have a beautiful smile." He answers.

I giggle as I try to unlock my door. Nate has agreed to coming back to my place, and my cheeks and neck to tease. "Stop it, Nate, that tickles." I laugh. Finally, I get the door open, and he stops. "Mommy!" A voice calls. J.J rushes at me. I pick her up as she runs into my arms. "Hey baby!" I squeeze her in a tight hug. "And who is this nice young man?" My mom calls. J.J now looks over to a bashful looking Nate. He waves shyly. "Nate!" J.J exclaims. "Jessica June, not so loud." Mom scolds. She giggles. "Sorry. But this is Nate, he likes my ladybug boots." My mom laughs. "Hello Nate. I'm June." He shakes her hand. "Right, (Y/n) told me about that when we met." He remembers. My mother smiles. "Got a brain in you, huh? I like you." She pats his cheek. "Mom!" I shake my head. Nate just laughs. "I think that's a win." Nate says. "I already know J.J likes me." J.J nods. "Yeah, you like my boots." She establishes again. We all laugh.

Two years. It's been two years of us being together. And I know what I want to move forward with. I finger the box in my pocket. I'm nervous, but I want to do this. I just she does two. Seven year old J.J has learned to keep secrets, and was very excited to help me. I really hope this works perfectly.

J.J tugs my arm. "Mommy, we need to back home." She insists again. She was very impatient with this errand run. She usually was very happy to be out and about. "J.J calm down, I don't know what has gotten into you." She gives a little whine. "Mommy!" I sigh. The only thing was we didn't go to the grocery store to pick up a few necessities, but I figure I can drop her off at home with Nate, since he moved in with us, and then go back out to get down faster. "Okay, let's go home." I say. She giggles in excitement, which confuses me.

Once I have opened the door, J.J runs inside. "Nate, are you home?" I call. I thought he was home. I walk into the kitchen to place the mail on the counter when I notice an...ice cream cake. My favorite. The frosting on top says 'Turn around' in fancy lettering. All of a sudden I hear singing. "Marry me Juliet. You'll never have to be alone. I love you and that's all I really know. I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress. It's a love story baby just say, Yes." I turn now. As Nate sings Love Story to me, he gets on one knee. "Yes." I whisper, tears flowing down my face. He breaks in a wide smile, slipping the ring on my finger, and kissing me passionately. "Yay!!!!" And excited shriek breaks the moment. "Did you help him J.J?" She nods. I laugh. "Well, I was very surprised."

"Perfect." Nate says, pulling me into for another kiss. "Eww!" J.J shrieks, then runs away. Nate and I laugh. "Well, now we have some privacy." He whisper in my ear. "Let's make it count." I whisper back. We share another kiss, filled with passion and love and kindness and what feels like fireworks. It's rough and it's sweet, and it's perfect. "Guess J.J got her wish." I say when we break away. He chuckles. "Guess we have to thank her for running off." He jokes. I peck his lips again. "Guess so."
