Logan and Natalia were seated in his office, with his laptop on while waiting for the conference to start.

The time was reading 07:50a.m. South African time and there was only ten minutes left before the conference call. “Why are you suddenly interested in MJ Billings?” Natalia asked Logan while sitting at the edge of his desk, but Logan just gave her a quick glance and kept quiet, turning his attention back to his laptop screen.

Natalia did not understand why Logan was keeping tabs on what MJ did. From what she knew, Logan refused to talk about her over the years. He had only spoken about her once, but after that, he had been quite closed off on the topic. MJ Billings was a no-go area and once touched; his mood would darken immensely.

The ten minutes ran out at lightning speed, and then 07:59 slowly turned to 8:00. “Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.” MJ’s voice rang through the screen, her mockery unhidden.  “It is a great day in the southern coast, the sky is blue and birds are singing,” She said with sarcasm laced in her voice.

“Dammit!” Logan growled and slammed his fist on the desk, causing Natalia’s heart to skip a beat.

Natalia did not need to ask why Logan was furious, because the answer was on the screen.

MJ Billings was not showing her face; the camera was pointed at her entwined hands placed firmly on a dark brown surface. “I know most of you have been expecting me, so here I am.” She spoke, and silence reigned once again. “A lot of things have happened in the last 24 hours, and my company name has been circulating from one tabloid to another, because of someone who decided to hack into my building and deteriorate one of my employee’s reputation..."

Her voice faded in the background as Logan's mind drifted back to all the times he spent with her. How had he missed this side of her?

“Is she aware that millions of people are watching this?” Natalia asked, her eyes dilated in surprise.

“She is very much aware,” He muttered under his breath as he shut the laptop screen. "Please excuse me. I need to make a phone call."

Natalia climbed off the desk in embarrassment, Logan could not even musk his lie. He did not want to see anyone, not even his best friend, both him and Sonya were banned from the building.

"Is there anything I can do for you?" She asked.

"Call the agency for Demi's replacement." It looked like he would be replacing a lot of people this year, he thought. Demi had emailed him her resignation letter the night after Carmen's accident. "Also, go to HR and ask them to go through the old CV's for Sonya's replacement," he said distastefully.

"Uhm...Logan, there are no CV's." Logan raised his eyes, waiting for an explanation. "Have you forgotten how Sonya got her job in the first place?"

"How could I?" Logan asked with a tight smile, his wrists pressed firmly against the desk. "Dammit!"

"I can ask the agency –"

He shook his head. "No. Get HR to put out an advert instead," he said with a devious smirk.

Maybe he could not get back at MJ at the moment or get the closure he needed, but he had definitely not forgotten about Romeo and Juliet.
