Gunned Down

Prologue

Pion Pzarova is a Captain of Military Special Force. He has been serving the Philippine Army for years and has proven his loyalty to the country. One thing that changed his life was the mission given to him by the President. It was very simple compared to his missions yet, unexpectedly it became the point to change his life, upon meeting the President’s daughter.

"I'm Captain Pzarova of Throttler Rangers Special Forces from the Philippine Army, Ma'am."

Napabuntong hininga siya, "Ganyan ba talaga kayo magpakilala? Can't you just say your full name so we're done here?"

Kumurap si Danelle dahil parang namamalik-mata lang siya na nakita ang lalaki na ngumisi.

"Sorry, ma'am but I don't give personal information."

"Bahala ka."

Watching the woman goes down the plane is making him uneasy. It was their first meeting and he thought that it would be also the last. But then, the President did him a favor and that is to look for his daughter after him. It was his special mission among the missions he had taken. He's always challenged by the woman. As time passed by, he discovered her stubbornness. He just can’t influence her decision so he should watch her carefully.

“Let’s go.”

Kinuha ni Pion ang kamay ni Danelle saka sila naglakad palabas ng restaurant. Bahagya pang nagulat ang babae dahil sa mga taong nakatingin sa kanila na lumipat ang mga mata sa kamay ni Pion na nasa palapulsuhan niya.

Nakapasok sila sa sasakyan at agad na pinaandar ng lalaki ang kotse.

“Bakit sinundo mo ako agad?”

“Why are you asking? I just saved your ass from that asshole and you just said that you’re going home.”

“Of course that was a lie para tigilan niya na ako. Hindi ako nakapagpaalam kina Xia dahil hinila mo agad ako.”

“May cellphone ka ‘di ba? Bakit hindi mo tawagan?”

Danelle glared at him but he was not even looking at the woman that made her more furious.

“Alam mo bang nakakaubos ka ng pasensya?”

The man chuckled and accelerated the car. Napahawak naman si Danelle sa seatbelt.

“Yes, I’m aware of that.”

It was his first time encountering a woman that would defy his guts. Until this time came, he slowly managed to recognize her feelings towards him. He’s not numb to not feel something is going on between them. He knew that they feel the same way, he used it as an opportunity to get closer to her and there it is, they became official. All is well, they’re happy, contented, and they both learned to give each other’s time. However, just like normal relationships have, they had problems.

“L-Let’s talk, please.”

He breathe heavily and pursed his lips. “What is there to talk about? You seemed enjoying his company. Hindi mo na yata ako kailangan.” Natigil na naman si Pion sa pagbukas ng pinto

“Don’t leave. What you saw was nothing! Itutulak ko na dapat siya, nakainom ako pero hindi ako lasing Pion. Alam ko ang ginagawa ko and I would never kiss him because I have you.”

“Ikaw, ang hirap mong intindihin. Sarili mong kaibigan pinagseselosan mo? Kung hindi dahil sa kanya hindi ko malalaman na nandito kayo! At kung hindi ko nalaman, ang tanginang Andrius na ‘yun hinalikan kana. And what? You two just fucking kissed?!”

Her mouth hanged opened. She laughed in disbelief. “Hindi ako nagseselos sa kanya Pion! My ghad! Ang punto ko lang, bakit siya may alam sa'yo samantalang ako wala?! At sinasabi mong mahirap akong intindihin? Aalis ka sa susunod na araw, hindi tayo magkaayos, hindi mo sinasabi sa’kin. Kailan mo balak ipaalam? Sa araw na ‘yon mismo o tatawagan mo nalang ako pagdating mo nang America?”

Her tears continued to flow and her voice tone down. “Mahirap ba akong intindihin, Pion?”

His jaw were moving. He licked his lips and tried to breathe again to calm himself. “I—

Life really dares them. After all the problems, another buried truth was exposed. It was in the past yet, it has still the power to ruin her current life. She never thought that the pain she suffered before will be nothing compared to the pain she’s feeling now.

"Do you hate me?" She asked crying.
