Prompt: izuku becomes quiet. thats it, alteration of universe, izuku is fking quiet one day and shouta is having a mental breakdown bc izuku is becoming quiet
This comes from Tobias_with_a_gun on AO3.
There's a lot of ways you can interpret this. This could be a joke on Izuku's part, or I could make this serious as the kid does not know how to shut the fuck up. I've already done one where Izuku did it as a joke on my Halloween chapter, so it's time to drama this shit.
Let's see what I can come up with late at night.
After Writing: Hopefully, this is what you are looking for? If not, let me know!

Shouta's POV

Usually, I wouldn't worry about not hearing screaming or complaining from Izuku as the kid is constantly out on cases. Still, he spams whatever he can find on the internet, forcing me to have to mute my phone to keep it from blasting something inappropriately.

If Izuku does stay at UA all day, even on a busy day for him, he starts trouble. This can be minor things from arguing with somebody, or he could cause such substantial trouble that I have to lock him in his dorm to settle down.

Either way, he is always up to something. That's what makes today different.

I have not heard a word from Izuku all day, and he has been at UA. Sure, I have seen him, but he isn't talking. If he is having a conversation, it's saying what is required before leaving.

That's what worries the shit out of me. A quiet Izuku is not good. Even on one of his calm days, he is still loud somehow. Today, nothing.

I am aware that Izuku isn't mentally stable, but I can't help him unless he asks for it. I try my best, but there is only so much I can do when the kid blocks that part of him from everybody. Most people may consider him selfish, but the work he puts into it something while expecting no returns makes him the most selfless person I know. It remarkable but sickening.

I already made up my mind that I am going to attempt to talk to him. Hopefully, I get something. I would do anything for that obnoxious brat back because he's at least happy during those times.

I stand outside of his dorm door for a moment before knocking. A moment later, it opens to reveal Izuku. I quickly look over him for anything out of place, but the only thing I notice is the fidgeting. That's normal for him, but it's more prominent.

"Can I come in? I need to talk to you." I ask without the usual harshness I hold over him; not that I will think it makes a difference, but I am willing to be careful. Izuku nods, steps aside, and lets me enter.

After scanning his room, the main thing I notice is how the pile of case files on his desk is taller than last time. I swear it grows every time, but when it's to the point of towering, that's when I worry for his well-being. One of the files is scattered across the desk with tons of sticky notes all over it. I peer up at Izuku again.

"How are you doing, kid?" I question as I sit down at one of the chairs.

Izuku goes behind his desk, seemingly to work again, but I stand up and walk in front of him to stop him. I hear him huff before looking up at me.

This is going to be harder than I thought.

I sigh, "Izuku, are you okay?"

He nods, then he finally speaks calmly, "Just an off day, Sho. Can I get back to work, please?"

"When was the last time you took a break?"

"Just now."

"A break over five minutes." Silence "Come on. You're going to kill yourself at this rate." No answer. I shake my head as I wrap an arm around his shoulder and attempt to lead him away except he stays still.

"Let me finish this first."

"How many cases have you done today?"

"Didn't keep track."

"Izuku...you can't do them if you burn yourself out. You can't blame me for being worried. This whole thing is illogical. What I am trying to say is that you don't need to destroy yourself mentally over this. If nothing else, take a break for me." Izuku remains quiet for a moment before nodding and coming with you, "I care about you. I can't watch you destroy yourself." I tell him as I lead him away.

I hear him mutter, "Care about you too."

I am hoping that this is a one-time thing. Otherwise, I am going to go grey from the Hero Commission from overworking him rather than Izuku himself.
