Excerpt from: Oh boy is right: part 2

"I don't want to spend my time with them knowing what's gonna happen in their lives. The only thing I want to remember when I get there is from when I met rog and bri, and from there on. Nothing that I've known beforehand. I can't live knowing what I know."

I explained. He was quiet. "What makes you think that I can do that?" He asked me. "I don't think, I know." I answered. "I'm fine with not having any family, they are my family. I don't want to remember me getting on a plane, I don't want to remember anything before that, take away anything that doesn't belong in the 70s that I had with me. I want it to be as if I actually did belong there." I finished. He hesitated.

"Fine"

I had woken up to the sound of beeping. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in a hospital. I then saw Brian sitting in a chair across from me. His head was hanging down. "Ew, why am I in a hospital?" I asked, while sitting up. I then saw his head shoot up, and his eyes make their way towards me.

"Oh thank god you're okay." Brian said, running up to me, hugging me. I hugged back, confused. "What happened?" I asked, feeling a headache come on. "Well, after you helped Freddie, you went home. We hadn't heard from you in a day so we came over and we thought you were asleep" he told me. "I was, I needed a nap." I told him

"We tried to wake you, and we realized that you wouldn't, we couldn't." He finished. "Hmm." I said while nodding. "That's odd." I told him. He scoffed. "Odd? It's more than odd, Brooklynn are you okay? The doctor said you've been under a lot of stress lately." He told me.

"I was, I just can't quite remember why." I told him, thinking about it. "Well do you remember who I am?" He asked. I laughed. "Duhh, you're my best friend." I told him. He smiled. "The rest of the boys should be here soon, I'll get the nurse" he told me, walking out. "Alright, Bri" I said. I then started to look around.

"May 13, 1976" I read. They've been off of tour since April 22. "Hello, Brooklynn." A nurse said, walking in, smiling. I looked up at her, and smiled back. "Hi" I told her. "How are you? Do you feel okay?" She questioned.

"Yep, I'm fine, just a small headache." I told her, truthfully. That's when I saw freddie walk in. We met eyes and he immediately ran over to me, and we shared a hug. "It feels like it's been forever since I've seen you, darling!" He told me, breaking away from the hug.

"I feel the same way" I said, furrowing my eyebrows. Something felt off, yet I couldn't tell what it was. I shook the feeling away as I looked back up and saw roger.

"Hey roggie!" I exclaimed, and opened my arms. "Oh, Brooklynn! I knew we shouldn't have let you leave, I knew it." He said into my shoulder.

"I'm okay, Roger." I told him, stroking his hair. "Yes, she is." The nurse said, walking back in. I looked at her and she smiled down at me. "All ready to go, Brooklynn?" She asked. I smiled at her.

"Yes ma'am." I told her. She scoffed, "don't ma'am me. It makes me feel old." She told me. "With age comes wisdom." Freddie reminded her. She just smiled and nodded her head.

I stood up, and my legs had given up on me. I fell back down onto the floor. The boys just stared at me. "Uhh, a little help?" I asked, and they rushed to help me.

"Roger, we've been driving around for hours now." I complained. I then heard Freddie chuckle. "Brooklynn, dear, it's only been 30 minutes at most" he corrected, followed by a snort from roger. "Yeah yeah yeah" I said, rolling my eyes.

"We're here!" Roger shouted. I looked up and we were in front of Freddie's house. "So you're telling me" I started, before shifting gazes between roger and Freddie. "We've been driving this long just to be back at your house?" I finished.

"That's not the point, darling, come on!" He said, pulling me out of the car. I groaned. "How are you feeling?" Freddie asked me, walking. "I feel great, Fred." I told him, kind of confused. "Good." He said, as we came to a stop. "Soo" I said, since we've been standing in the same spot for 2 minutes now.

"Okay!" Roger said, coming over to us. "Umm, can we go in now?" I asked, confused. "Of course, darling!" Freddie said, very hesitant. "Umm, are you okay Fred?" I asked him. He was acting strange. "Yes, of course darling! Let's go in now, shall we?" He told me, offering me his hand. I grabbed it. "We shall." I told him, brushing away him acting strange.

"Surprise!" Was all I heard as I walked in. "HOLY FUCK!" I screamed. I watched everyone laugh. There weren't many people, just the boys, their wives, Mary, and a guy who I didn't recognize.

"Welcome home, Brooklynn." John said, walking up to me and giving me a hug. "Well I'm not quite home yet." I joked. He then shared a look with Freddie. "You haven't told her yet?" He asked. "Told me what?" I interrupted.

"Well I was waiting to tell you." Freddie said sternly, looking at John. He had guilt written on his face. I gave him a sympathetic smile. "But I guess I'll just have to show you, follow me." He said, taking my hand. "So you know how you're alone a lot, correct?" He asked.

I nodded. "And I know how much you love my darling cats." He said. I made a face. "I wouldn't say love, but continue." I told him. "Well, I know I haven't quite gotten your permission, but I wanted it to be a surprise, and if you don't like it, I'm sorry."

"Just show me, Fred" I laughed. "Okay." He said. He then opened the door. It was a bedroom, and it was beautiful. "Is this for me?" I asked, not taking my eyes off of the room. "Yes. Do you like it? Oh of course you don't like it, I'm so sorry Brooklynn, I thought-" I cut him off with a hug.

"This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me." I told him, with my arms around his neck. "Y-you like it?" He asked. I broke away from the hug and looked at him. "Like it? I love it, Freddie!" I hugged him again. This time he hugged back.

"Thank you so much. Are you sure?" I asked him, breaking away from the hug again, and looking into his eyes. "Yes darling, I'd love you as a roommate." He told me. I smiled. "All of your things from your flat is getting taken into storage, so you won't have to worry about that." Freddie explained.

I wasn't paying attention, I was just thinking about how great of a friend Freddie is. "Brooklynn, are you alright?" He asked. I snapped out of my gaze. I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Yes, indeed I am, thanks to you, Mr. Mercury" I told him.

I could see him start to blush a little. "Aww, you're turning red, just like a little thermometer." I teased, while pinching his cheeks. "Yeah yeah yeah, cut it out." He said, swatting my hands away. "Just go In and get dressed, we're all going out to a club." He told me.

"Okay... Mr. Fahrenheit" I teased some more. "Fuck off!" He shouted before walking away. This caused me to let out a laugh. I then closed the door, and looked through the huge wardrobe that Freddie had supplied.
