At Freddie's place
I knocked on the door a few times, and Jim answered. I let out a smile, even though I was upset.
"Hi, Brooklynn! What a wonderful surprise. " He said, giving me a hug as best as he could.
"Hey, Jim, how are you?" I asked him, walking in, and removing my shoes at the door.
"I'm fine, and you?" He asked me.
"I'm good as well... do you mind if I use your phone for a sec?" I asked him.
"Oh of course not... You do that while I get Freddie." He told me. I just smiled and nodded.
I really like Jim. He's sweet and overall perfect for Freddie. The way Freddie talks about him makes my heart melt. I really believe they're meant for eachother.
I used their phone to call home.
"Hello?" I heard my husband's voice.
"Hey baby, I stopped at Freddie's place in Kensington." I told him.
"Hey Brooklynn. Robert called." He told me. Shit.
"Oh, he did?" I asked, playing dumb.
"Yes, he told me everything. What's going on?" He asked me.
"I'll explain everything when I get there." I told him, as I saw Freddie come down in a robe. "Love you. Bye." I said, hanging up.
Robert's a snitch
"Hey, darling, what brings you here?" Freddie asked, he took a seat.
"Freddie... Why did you say no to Live Aid? It's a really good cause, and you guys would do great!" I started, before he interrupted me.
"Brooklynn..." he said, but I kept talking.
"Don't Brooklynn me, I know you better than this." I crossed my arms.
"Brooklynn, please." He said, looking into my eyes.
This was when I noticed his appearance. He had a stubble, and his hair was longer than usual. He had bags under his eyes, and it looked like he'd been crying. He looked exhausted.
"F-Freddie... what's wrong?" I asked him, sitting next to him.
"You've been distant lately." I said, thinking out loud.
"Brooklynn, I'm sick." He told me.
"Oh..." I said.
"Well it's okay, we can get you some medicine." I explained to him.
He looked down and closed his eyes.
"I called Geldof back, and told him that you guys are performing... you don't have to, and I'll be paying £500,000 out of my pockets." I told him.
He looked back up at me.
"Now before you get mad, think about it. You guys are Amazing, and the crowd will love you guys. It's raising money for starving kids in Africa, this is such a big charity event." I explained.
"Brooklynn, I'm sick." He said, again. I was confused.
"Freddie I get that, but Live Aid is in a few months, you'll have plenty of time to recover." I told him.
"No Brooklynn, you don't understand." He told me. By now he was staring into my eyes.
I just looked at him, confused.
The next thing he said to me were the three words that changed my life forever. How could this be? My best friend, telling me such news like this...
"I have AIDs"
