Brooklynns POV

The date is July 10, the time is 4:00AM, and I was currently boarding my plane to England. I kind of have a fear of planes, but there is no way I'm not going. I just have to see it. I didn't get to witness live aid during my- uhh, trip. So I'm going to see it in three days. "Are you ready sweetheart?"

My mom asked, as she sat in her seat next to me. "I have no other choice, do I?" I asked her. "Well, not exactly. Just know I'm here with you, don't be scared, because mama got you." She told me, as she grabbed my hand. I smiled at her and thought of brian. My eyes got teary. I nodded and blinked the tears away. "We're starting to move, put your seatbelt on."

In The Hotel Room

11:43AM

We had landed, and we were in Kensington of course. My mom didn't exactly know why we were in Kensington instead of London, and I told her the truth... I want to visit Freddie's garden.

For a completely different reason that she thinks though. "I'm gonna do a bit of exploring, okay?" I told my mom as she laid on her bed. "We just got here, Brooklynn. Maybe you should take a nap." My mom recommended.

"Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" I said dragging out the 'e' until she got annoyed. I didn't have to do it for long. "Just be back before too late, is your phone on a good percentage?" she asked me. I took it out of my pocket and looked at it. "Yes, 84 percent" I told her. "Alright, be safe." She responded. "Will do!"

I shouted, as I closed the door. Okay, so according to Freddie's Instagram account, his last post was yesterday, and it was him in his garden. So I've decided to go there. May not be my smartest choice, but it'll do. I have to see him. Even if he doesn't remember me, i just have to.

I caught a cab, and it eventually dropped me off at front of a gate. I remember always looking up photos of this place, and there'd be letters everywhere, on the gate to Freddie. I touched the door, then rang the buzzer. "Yes?" I heard a voice.

"Um, I came to visit." I answered. I waited about 2 minutes before I heard his voice again. "Mr. Mercury would like to know who's visiting." I kind of want him to be surprised.

"An old friend." I answered. "Name please." He replied almost immediately. "Just tell him it's Bea." I answered. It was quiet, For almost 5 minutes. "Hello, who's this?" I heard Freddie's voice. He sounded anxious.

"It's me, Fred... I'm home." I told him, my voice cracking. Almost immediately, I heard the buzzer, and I was allowed in. I walked in, and as I got closer, I saw him. "Farrokh?" As I got closer, he just stood there, staring at me.

We then stood face to face, having a staring contest. He looked old, and I loved it. It's all I ever wanted. "Brooklynn Eloise Anderson." He said, before engulfing me in a hug.

"It's so fucking great to see you, I was wondering how long it would take for you to come and fucking see me, it's been about 40 years!" He exclaimed, showing his beautiful smile. "It's great to see you too, Fred." I said, wiping my tear-stained cheeks.

"Let's sit down and catch up, shall we?"  Freddie asked. "Yeah, of course, may I come in?" I asked him. "Yes, you may." He told me, sticking his arm out, I gladly accepted it.

"I know I don't look as good as I did before, blame that on my age, though." He told me, looking down at me. I took this as a chance to take in his features. His mustache was still there, just grey.

Along with his hair. He had wrinkles, he was clearly aged, but he still looked amazing. He aged very well, and he still had such a wonderful smile, that could light up anyone's day.

"You still look amazing, Freddie." I reassured him. We were eventually in the kitchen, having tea, and catching up.

"So you're telling me that you aren't married?!"   I questioned him, shocked. He shrugged. "I'm attracted to men, and you know how my fate was. I can't risk it, and I can't lie to myself with a woman, so I came to the conclusion that I was better off alone."

He explained. It broke my heart. "So Fred, you're telling me that you aren't married, simply because you live in fear of contracting AIDS?" I asked him.

He nodded. "Weren't you lonely? All of these years, the only thing you wanted was to find somebody to love, remember?" I told him.

"Well, I try not to. It's worked all this time too. I'll be dead soon, I won't have to worry about being lonely any longer." I put my hand to his cheek.

"After all this time of trying to save you, I'm the one who put you in this position. I'm the reason why you live in this fear. I'm the reason why you have to lie to yourself." I said. A tear streak just fell down his face.

"It's alright darling. You're a good person. You had good intentions, and I truly love you for it. I'm just glad I didn't forget about you." He smiled at me.

I gave him a kiss on his cheek. I then gave him a big hug. "Don't worry Freddie. It won't be like this for long, I promise." I said, more to myself than him. He just sat there, silently crying.

I eventually left, after an hour. I told him I came for global aid, and to see him and the other guys. Now, it's just clear what I have to do. I made my way back to the hotel and thought about what I've done. Although he was dying, he wasn't alone. He had Jim. He was happy with Jim until he passed.

I went to the nearest library, and did some research. The Mercury Phoenix trust foundation was never founded, which means the 16 million dollars that they've raised was never raised. Considering Freddie helped raise major awareness to AIDs, all of that awareness was never raised. And that was Technically all because of me.
