Minho
"Drink this." SungJong passes me a bottle of water and he looked at me with great concern. "I thought that you need this."
"I don't need it," I told my dear friend.
"But you looked like you are going to pass out anytime soon and I don't want to see a groom passing out at his wedding." He insisted and even opened the bottle cap for me.
I grabbed the bottle of water because I don't have a choice and I am really going to pass out even before the wedding would start, I am in the waiting room right now and I have already changed into my attire for the wedding and it would be a few hours before the guests would come in.
Honestly, it is not the time to get really nervous but I am very nervous, it is my first time getting married after all and it is also going to be the last time, I have no idea to keep my cool knowing that Miwon is going to be my wife after the wedding ceremony and we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.
It seemed like yesterday that we first met each other in class and now we are getting married to each other, it is such a great turn of events and I am so glad that it has happened. Marrying Miwon is the best decision that I am going to make and I am not going to regret a single moment of it, she is the best person for me and I can't think of any other woman who can make me happy like how Na Miwon can do to me.
I bet that she is also feeling very nervous in her own waiting room, she has been practising hard on walking and she is so insistent on walking down the aisle with her father later. It has been almost 6 months since she has undergone physiotherapy and she has progressed so much, she was so close to walking the other day and she burst into tears because she was upset that she still couldn't walk.
But I wouldn't mind if she isn't able to walk for the rest of her life, it is not like that would change my love for her. Whether she is able to walk or she is to remain in her wheelchair, I will love her the same and I won't treat her differently. To me, she is still Miwon and she is the Miwon that I am going to love for the rest of my life.
JiHoon stood up from his seat. "Relax, you are going to break out in a sweat if you keep walking around. Nothing bad is going to happen at your own wedding, I have made sure that there aren't any ex-girlfriends around or any enemies of yours at the wedding, every single corner is guarded by bodyguards and they are armed with weapons that could eliminate an entire team of terrorists."
I stopped one hand up to stop him. "You are kidding about the last part because I don't want the real police to turn up and make my wedding into a crime scene."
"Of course, I said that to make the atmosphere lighter. SungJong is right, this is your wedding and you are supposed to be in your best condition for the wedding." He placed an arm on my shoulder. "Don't worry, SungJong and I will make sure that we will handle everything that happens during the wedding ceremony later and you be the bridegroom that you should be."
I hugged the two of them. "Thanks, guys, I couldn't have been able to pull off this wedding without the two of you."
There was a knock on the door and a head popped in, it was Miwon's father and he is also going to officially be my father-in-law after the wedding is over. "Abeonim!" My two friends immediately greeted him with a salute, all of us have been on good terms after the kidnapping case.
"You guys don't need to do that, I am not here as a policeman but as the bride's father today." He looked at me. "Minho, can I have a word with you?"
"Sure..." I came out of the waiting room and we walked down the corridor, I can tell that Miwon's father has something serious to tell me about. "You can tell me now," I told him after we have reached the balcony, it is such a beautiful place to be at.
"Minho, I have a question to ask you. Do you ever regret asking Miwon's hand for marriage?" I looked at him in confusion, I don't understand why he is asking me such a question when I am about to get married to his daughter in just a few hours. "Answer me very honestly, do you think that it is not something that you want?"
"What are you talking about, Mr Na? Of course, I meant it when I asked Miwon's hand for marriage because I really love Na Miwon and I don't want to lose her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
"Really? But I have to tell you that Na Miwon is not the right person for you, you are too good for her." He attacked me with another question, did he drink a little too much earlier? I know that the drinks are free flow but he didn't have to get himself drunk before the wedding.
"Mr Na, I think that you have drunk a little too much. Do you want to go back to the waiting room with me so that you can rest and sober up from the alcohol." I suggested to him. "I will bring you there this instant."
"Answer me first! Do you think that you can love my daughter unconditionally and treat her like a gem? You will never make her cry and make sure that she is happy with you. Can you promise me that? I will not hand over my precious daughter to you if you don't do that." He yelled at the top of his lungs. "Song Minho, tell me what you really think on your mind?"
"Mr Na, I love Miwon with all of my heart and I promise that I will never make her cry because of me and I will make her happy when she is with me," I told her father and he suddenly burst out into tears and I squatted down to comfort him, patting on his shoulder and rubbing small circles around it.
"Thank you for accepting my daughter for who she is, she is very fragile so treat her with care or I will dispatch an entire team of policeman just to kill you off." That was the only sentence he spoke to me before I sent him back to the waiting room.
