A/N - So... You know what? Screw it. This arc is already way longer than I normally make my story arcs, I'm finishing it in the next two chapters. Oh boy. These chapters are gonna be long. Buckle up, strap in, grab your tissues and find a comfy place to sit. Maybe an outlet and charger cord too, if you're a slow reader. Go on, I'll wait.

Ready? Good. Good. Here we go.With the rescue of the king and the death of the lost prince, the entire rebel nest was buzzing. Ahsoka and Rex sat through hours and hours of briefings. Ahsoka talked with her master, and told him they would he home soon. Anakin nodded.
"You'd better. We're finishing up on out campaign here and will be able to retrieve you in a week or two." He smiled. Ahsoka frowned.
"Campaign? I wasn't aware of any campaign." Rex came over to stand by his fiancee. He put a hand on her shoulder, mirroring her expression.
"Neither was I, sir."
Anakin frowned. "We were called back to Kavado to put down an insurrection lead by somebody named Argus."
Rex sucked in a breath as color drained from his face. Anakin raised an eyebrow at his captain. "Keeper Argus was the one in charge at the facility where me and Ahsoka and your master were held." He explained. Anakin's face darkened.
"I... I was not aware of that." His tone was flat.
"He took a pleasure in personally torturing Kenobi himself." Rex took a deep breath, clearing his emotions like Ahsoka had taught him. "Was anybody hurt too badly by him. Anyone else?"
Anakin shook his head. "We've had minimal casualties, thank force, and no major injuries. The worst of the 501st was bad sunburns for Whiteout and Cavalry."
Rex let out his breath slowly. "Ok. Good, that's good." Ahsoka shuddered and pressed into his side more, rubbing at the burn scars that roped and twisted around her arms. Anakin nodded.
"We were fortunate. We'll finish up here, and then-" There was a muffled explosion somewhere on Anakin's end. He muttered a slew of oaths in huttese as he turned to try and locate the source of the sound. "I have to go." He looked apologetically at the pair. Ahsoka nodded, pulled herself up a little straighter, and took a small shuffling step away from her fiance.
"Go. We'll comm you if there's any trouble." She said. Anakin gave a grim smile before cutting the connection. Ahsoka turned back to the heated discussion between the rebel leaders and the king and some new civilians that had joined.
"-are we supposed to do? They out man, out gun, and out manuver us at every turn!" Exclaimed a young newcomer. Steela sighed and pinched her brow.
"We're supposed to do what we have been doing so far. Surprise attacks. Hit and run. Publicity. We've done just well so far, and we don't need any new management thank you very much." She said curtly. "Next?"
The newcomer stalked off grumbling and a seasoned rebel stepped forward. She saluted Steela. "Sorry to bother you ma'am. There have been issues in the chain of command, I would like some clarification on who I report to." She stepped back, moving to parade rest. Ahsoka saw Rex's lips twitch upwards in a proud smile out of the corner of his eye.
King Dendup spoke up now. "I am afraid that I am a latecomer to the rebellion. Steela here has done an impressive job of leading so far. That is why I am giving her the official rank of General." Steela ducked her head and kicked at the dirt.
"It wasn't all me. Lux and Saw played a big part, and I'd be lying if I said Captain Rex and Padawan Tano's imput hasn't been invaluable." She protested. Dendup smiled kindly at her.
