One of the great things about Jill is that she's not afraid to be herself.  I won't hold it against her that she still calls football "soccer".  I don't even have to explain the rules to her.  "My brother plays soccer so I know all about it," she says as we walk to our seats.  I immediately want to put my arm around her but I don't know if I should.  It's a little chilly and she didn't bring a jacket.

"Do you want my jacket?  It's a bit cold."

She puts her hand on mine.  "No thanks, Louis, I'm ok for now."  Her hand is freezing.  I take my jacket off and wrap it around her.

"Don't fight me on this one, babe."  She smiles and leans a little towards me.  I feel like this is my opportunity to hold her so I reach my arm around her and pull her as close as I can.  Pesky stadium seats.

Once the game starts we both wind up standing most of the game.  We both get really into it.  It's like she turned into a different person, yelling at the officials.  I like it.  She's feisty and passionate.  All the passion must have warned her up because at one point she hands me back my jacket.  I notice a few guys taking a look at her and I have her put it back on and I zipper it up.  I love the shirt she's wearing but not for the whole world to see.

I've gotten pretty used to knowing when someone is trying to take a picture of me, whether they are trying to sneak it or not.  There are fans or press just about everywhere and just because they don't come up to me doesn't mean I don't see them.  I try to make it look like I don't notice them but it's not always that easy.  I see someone out of the corner of my eye taking pictures and I get distracted.  A goal is scored and I miss it.  The whole stadium erupts and Jill throws her arms around me a gives me a big hug.  It feels nice.

"Did you see that?" She exclaims, "That was awesome!"  She puts up her hand to give me a high five.

I high five her.  "Yeah...really great," I lie.  I can't tell her I was too busy trying not to notice our picture being taken and imagining what kind of bullshit story they're going to make up this time.  I want to enjoy this time with her.  I don't want them to ruin it.

With just a few minutes to go in the game I decide it's probably best we leave now.  I take her hand and guide her through our row and up the stairs to the concourse.  I am thinking we are going to head straight to my car but she runs over to the merchandise stand.  I pick up my pace to catch up to her.  "I'm just going to get a scarf," she says as she starts digging in her bag, I assume for her wallet.

"Let me get that for you," I say as I put the money on the counter.  There's no way I'm letting her pay for anything on this date.

The guy hands her the scarf and she wraps it around her neck.  "Thanks, Louis."

"You're welcome.  You hungry?"  She nods her head yes.  We leave the stadium and head straight to my car. Before I start the car I look over to where Jill is sitting.  She is wearing my jacket and her scarf looking out the window.  She's so beautiful.
