Chapter 106

Aelia's pov

The downpour of rain outside was almost deafening, there wasn't a soft putter patter nor light drizzle but there was an army of liquid being released from almost pitch black clouds and digging into the earth, almost washing it away

I sighed as my eyes glanced out to the sky, seeing the flashes of lightening beat down to the earth and strike with power

Sometimes I'd smile to myself to know I was in that space Luna grew up in. These walls had seen a small child turn into a woman, these windows had held her head as she gazed out at the rain she loved. These pillows touched the head of beauty everynight and gave her dreams of a thousand stars in the midnight sky

She was the woman she was starting out right here in this very room. The place where she gained privacy, the place where she had her own thoughts, the place where she felt safe besides the arms of her father

It was sweet, her childhood experiences for thousands of years. Some might say it's too cheesy or cringe that I admire the space my fiancé grew up in but I find it charming, I find it fascinating that her life was all built in this one space.

I smiled to myself and pushed a few strands of blonde locks behind my hair, it was shivering cold from the rain but the walls of the castle seemed to close in with a different temperature

It's been a few minutes since Luna had left the room and my mind hasn't been the same since then. There was a weird scream downstairs and she refused to let me leave until she came back, assuring it was just our friends being dumbasses below

But I wasn't having any of it, especially right now.

My feet met the cold ground of the castle, I had no idea why it was freezing. Sure it was raining but this was a different type of cold, something sinister lurking behind its phase

But the second my fingers had gripped the doorknob, the door was pulled open from the outside

My heart skipped a beat in the second from the sudden contact but a smile stretched onto my lips when I saw that Lex was on the other side

"Hey Lex, what's up?" I asked

But that smile dropped faster than a falling stone from a cliff when I noticed her pale face and a disturbed expression she held

"Lex?" I asked once again

"Please don't freak out, but we have to go. Right now" Lex said, I furrowed my brows at her

"Go where? Where the heck is Luna" I said

"Aelia please. I'll explain everything right after but right now, we need to get you all away from here" She said as her hands reached out to grip my wrist

Adrenaline floods my system, It pumps and beats like it’s trying to escape. I think my heart will explode and my eyes are wide with fear. My body wanted to either fall flat onto the ground and curl into a ball or escape from this room and find where the fuck Luna was

"Where. The fuck. Is Luna" I gritted

Although she remained silent and her grasp on my wrist went slack, Lex's soft eyes gave me my answer

The blood had drained from my face and rushed into my bloodstream as adrenaline. The deep feeling filled the pit of my stomach as all the oxygen left my lungs in that moment. For I knew something was wrong and Luna was in danger.

"Please. Just, let's go. Please" she pleaded once again

My arms tossed Lex's away as I tried to push her aside to move down the hallway. I had no goddamned idea what was going on but there was no way in hell Luna was going to be alone

"Aelia!" Lex called out as I dashed out of the room

My feet took control with the rapidly pounding heart in my chest and I ran.

I ran like I had never wanted to escape before.

I ran like my life depended on it.

I ran like Luna's life depended on it.

"Oh for fuck sakes Aelia!" Lex hissed the second I reached the stairs

My eyes fell over to my friends, they were standing below the stairs, their eyes soft and brows permanently stitched together. Yep, something was definitely wrong and I'm sure no one would tell me about it if I asked

"Aelia!" Lex hissed again

"Where is she!" I yelled as I snapped my neck around to face the blonde girl standing in front of me

"Luna's gonna kill me when she finds out what I'm gonna do" Lex groaned, I furrowed my brows at the girl

"What?" I asked

"Forgive me Aelia, but I really need to get you all away from here right now" Lex said

There wasn't even time spared to blink, Lex's fist was brought up into the air and aimed directly towards my face. With one swift move, it came flying towards my skull. A deep pain erupted from the side of my face with what seemed like a burn from within, slowly creeping with a tightness on my skin.

Then it all went black.

Narrator's pov

Maddy leaped forward, the anger infused in her veins had taken over her ability to think right and removed her own strategy

But who could blame her, she was standing in front of someone less than a person. Someone who didn't deserve to be called a woman, much less a mother

She was standing in front of someone who wanted her heart to stop.

The person that gave birth to her, the person that was supposed to love you unconditionally no matter what life throws at your. A mother's love was unbreakable, for they had carried and nurtured you for months until you breathed life into the world

Then they'd hold you in your arms, you soft skin pressed against their own to birth a bond that could never be broken. A bond of mother and child.

But Medusa didn't have a heart, she didn't find a bond when she gave birth to two daughters. Love was a myth to her and she didn't care who had to shed blood for her to get what she wanted

God could only tell who hurt that woman during her childhood.

But it didn't matter in that moment because the rage had filled to Maddy's peek. She was completely shut down from the horrid sight of her mother's face, strong and active again

She had leaped forward, her white wings rose to the arms as she barley hovered from the ground. Her eyes glowing a deep colour of yellow, her pupils looked like a flat line, almost snake like.

Her teeth gritted together as she launched into the air, predator like to attack the woman standing with a smirk. Luna's eyes went wide as she screamed at the girl, but everything went in love motion at that point

Medusa's smirk rose higher as she eyes glanced towards her daughter, her arms reached out to the air and halted Maddy's movements

Maddy's eyes went wide when she realized her body was frozen in mid air, Medusa smirked and glanced at Luna

"I see you've made up with your sister" Medusa chuckled

"LET HER GO" Luna yelled

The sound of struggling came behind, Luna barley took a second to glance back as she saw Mark and Lucifer battling it out. Mark's neck dripped with fresh blood and scrapes lined across his entire body. Lucifer's hair was messy and glued together with blood as the side of his face oozed with the thick red liquid

"Let her go? You really want me to?" Medusa smirked

With one swift move, a sharp bolt crept onto the hairs of Medusa's hands and jolted towards Maddy, throwing her body backwards into the concrete wall

"MADDY" Luna hissed
