may third- the quidditch pitch

It had been 12 days since we returned to Hogwarts and 12 days that I had spent sleeping in my own bed in my room with my friends. Everyone was surprised when Fawn and I sat next to each other in compartment 17 on the ride back to school.

Although we had gotten to the point where all of my friends knew about Draco and me, we still didn't feel comfortable hanging out around them, for a bunch of reasons. Draco didn't really know any of them, which was our first deterrent. Also, I didn't want to shove my relationship with him in my friends' faces, especially considering that Fawn and I had just made up. So, we continued to have secret dates, where nobody would be able to find us.

Right when we got back from the holiday, he told me he had a date planned for us for May third. Lucky for me, today was May third. The plan was to meet outside of my common room at 4 pm.

After class, I headed back up to my common room to get changed. Draco said we would be outside, so to dress comfortably. I had no idea what he was planning, but I figured it would be fun. I grabbed my wand just in case and looked at the clock. It was 4 pm, time to meet Draco.

As I walked back into the common room, Cedric, Hannah, Matt, and Fawn were sitting together.

"Where are you going?" asked Fawn curiously.

"Out," I responded, smirking at her to try to relay my message. My friends and Draco's cronies were the only people who knew about us, so I didn't want to explicitly say where I was going because there were other people in the common room.

Fawn winked back at me after she picked up on what I was insinuating.

"Don't get pregnant!" exclaimed Cedric, not even turning around to look at me.

"Cedric Amos Diggory," I said, walking over to him slowly, "respectfully, shut up, you ass." I hit his arm and walked out of the common room, ignoring his laughter and mockery.

I opened the door to the common room and saw Draco waiting for me across the hall, leaning against the wall as if he were trying to hold it up. He was holding an extendable bag in one of his hands, the other resting in his pocket. He looked great today. He was wearing his usual black slacks with a black collared shirt, but he had on a green Slytherin jumper on over his shirt, which made him look that much better.

He was looking at the floor when I found him, probably wondering when I would appear from behind my common room door. However, his eyes quickly found me, and his face lit up, a smirk forming on his lips.

"Hey you," I said as I crossed the corridor over toward him.

"You ready?" he asked, standing up from the wall.

"As ready as I can be considering that all you told me was to dress comfortably. Where are we even going?"

"You'll see."

He led me through the corridors, eventually making our way outside.

"So Malfoy," I teased, "what's in the extendable bag?"

"I thought Hufflepuffs were supposed to be patient?"

"You can't blame me for being curious."

"You'll see when we get there."

We continued to make our way across the grounds until we arrived at the Quidditch pitch.

"What, are we going to play Quidditch?" I joked as I realized this was our destination.
