july twenty-seventh- the battle of the seven potters

~ Addison ~

Remus and Tonks had been married for a week and a day. Their wedding was beautiful. Sad, for me, but beautiful. There wasn't a single sign that anyone had discovered our movement between the two Tonks' households.

Life hadn't changed much since then. I still would cry myself to sleep every night and argue with Tonks during the day, but it had lessened to a degree.

We had started my training again. Remus had been granted explicit consent to officially induct me as a proper member of the Order. While I had previously been a member, I was now joining the ranks of those able to be enlisted in combat. It would allow me to gain training from others, Mad-Eye, Kingsley, and Bill Weasley, instead of just Remus and Tonks. They would specialize me in certain areas of defence. Remus's specialization was as a part-time healer. Tonks was a full-time combatant. I didn't know where they'd place me, or even when all of that would happen.

There were other things going on too. Plans. We were fully engulfed in a war now, which meant that strategies had to be created and executed.

There was a plan in place for tonight, but I didn't get to be a part of it. Tonks had told me about it three days ago.

"Hey," she said, standing with her bowl of cereal from the table. "Just so you know, next Sunday you're going to have to go stay with Mum for the night."

"Why's that? You're my guardian, not her," I pointed out.

"Remus and I have plans."

I quickly glanced around the room to make sure Remus wasn't around before continuing with the conversation. "Like sex plans? You're kicking me out of your house to have sex? You could just lock me in my room. I'm very good at silencing charms."

Her face didn't even flush a drop. She was never ashamed of her sex life. It was one of the things we would talk about during our one on one training sessions. We would get about twenty minutes in of actual spell work and then we'd be gossiping like two girls at a sleepover. She was a worse gossip than Draco, which was shocking.

"Not sex plans," she dismissed, taking a sip of her tea. "Order plans."

"Order plans? As in something I could help with?"

"No."

"Why not? I've been dying to do something to help. Sitting here like a bump on a log is hardly helping me get better at combat, or begin my specialization."

"I said no, Addie."

I crossed my arms over my chest defiantly. "Tonks, you know I have been more than adequately trained. You have trained me for almost two years now. Plus, all that time I spent with the DA working with Harry has hardly worked against me. I am ready to fight. Voldemort is building an army to go after people like me. The least I can do is help the people trying to defeat him."

"You can't come with us because this mission is high-profile. Virtually nobody in the order knows about it except for those involved," she said harshly, her hair starting to turn a deep red to reflect her frustration with my insistence.

"Well then, if I'm not seeing anyone else, you can tell me what it is. I just want to be in the loop, especially when the information that is circumventing me is directly related to my affairs. If both you and Remus are going-"
