* Disclaimer- the playlist has been made so that you should (this is the keyword lol) be able to press play and read all the way through, hearing the songs when they show up as noted within the chapter. However, if you read at a faster or slower pace than the average human (as denoted by the time listed in the browser version of Wattpad and various other writing resources), you may have to manually play songs as you go along or pause the playlist as to make sure you do not fall behind the music. To make sure this experience can be as satisfying for all of my readers, regardless of reading speed, songs will be noted before each section, meaning that the narration that follows each song title will correspond to that song or series of songs. Also, certain songs repeat in the playlist because each of them is meant to accompany one longer scene, so please make sure you do not skip them if they are repeated. You don't have to listen to the playlist, but I hope you all choose to because I worked a long time on synching everything up, and even if it isn't absolutely perfect, I love it, and I hope you all can too. Hope this helps! Enjoy xx *

[start playlist- "Boys Don't Cry" (The Cure) and "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" (Perry Como)]
Christmas was my favourite. It was my favourite time of year, my favourite holiday, my favourite excuse to get to see people, everything. My favourite food was made at Christmastime, some of my favourite songs were Christmas ones, the cosiest jumpers that my parents got for me were all Christmas gifts.
This Christmas was less than ideal. We were at war. I wouldn't be able to spend time with my parents. We were still at school. But, it was also going to be perfect, or at least as perfect as we could make it. Draco was being extremely generous in letting our friends come over. We were going to have fun, I was sure of it.
Fawn, Ainsley, Ernie, and Justin had all come over on Sunday to help me make cookies while Matt and Hannah had a date in our common room. Draco was adamant on not being domestic, as his friends had so lovingly put it on Saturday, so I had recruited the assistance of my friends. It was perfect. Mum and I used to take a day or two where all we would do was bake cookies when I was younger. Sunday was exactly that, only with my friends. Justin had forgotten to set the timer on one batch of them and burnt them to a crisp. Ainsley made the most beautiful designs in frosting on the sugar and gingerbread ones, even without using magic. Fawn and Ernie were a brilliant tag team, cutting out shapes that would envy the ones Mum used to make. All while Draco read on the sofa, content with his little place in the world of me and my friends.
We hadn't seen Blaise or Theo since Saturday when they left, which meant we had no idea how Pansy was. I felt awful for not picking up on her cues sooner and not being able to convince her to stay. She had been through so much and it just wasn't fair that she had to subject herself to more emotional anguish. But it was okay that we hadn't seen them since. Four days wasn't that long of a time, and even if it was, they would be coming up to the Room tonight. All would be well.
