Space wasn't what Earth people thought it was like. It wasn't empty, it wasn't dangerous. It was just like human's world, but much bigger. The different planets were connected with gateways, working just like trains would. Every worlds were communicatin with each other, except Earth. So the humans still thought they were alone. Aliens, called by themselves Spaceling, knew everything about Earthling. They weren't hiding, it was more like not showing theirselves. They were in fact waiting for humans to discover them, since they were the last people not knowing about their existence.
The Space world was approximately the same. There was only one thing that wasn't allowed in Earth, but mandatory in Space. Every child born the 23rd of April needed to train to become a killer. Weird, wasn't it? But it was the rule. If someone dared to do otherwise, he was killed in front of everyone else. Everyone needed to respect it. So, every parent was trying to avoid this day for the birth of their child at all cost. But of course, some babys still were born anyways. Lee Jeno was one of them.
He was a handsome young man, smart, and liked sports. But, he could never choose a job, neither live how he wanted. He was born the 23rd of April in 2020. He was considered unlucky by everyone, including his parents. Everytime someone found out his birth date, a sad face was looking at him. But, even with this, he was happy. He liked saying it was destiny, that he was lucky because it wasn't happening to a lot of people. And everyone was looking at him like he was crazy. So he stopped talking about that thought.
The day of his 19th birthday, he started his training. He was doing well, so he got to make a choice: where would he go? He could go to every planet, and he chose Jupiter. He never went there, but it seemed interesting, so why not? His choice got accepted, and he continued to train, trying even harder.
After one year, he had finish his training. It meant one thing: he was soon leaving. He was really excited, his first travel was finally coming. There was also another thing that made him excited: his capitain. It was the famous Y/N, after all. She was known for being the first woman to go to 5 planets. Normally, one travel would take a lot of time, so doing a few was difficult. But she managed to do it. It meant she would go to Jupiter for her 6th travel. He was very happy to be in her team.
The day finally came, and he was waiting in a room with other trained killers. Their ship was soon ready, but they weren't allowed to go in there yet. They needed to wait a few more minutes. He would soon meet Y/N. He didn't even know how to react. Should he greet her, tell her that she is amazing ? He really didn't know.
He was about to stress, but the door opened, and she entered. She was smiling, and walked in the center, before saying:
"Hi everyone ! I am very proud to be the captain of this amazing killer team ! I read all of your profiles, and I am really impressed. A few really took my attention, and I am looking forward to work with you. I think I said enough. Now, we should all go inside the ship and leave !"
Everyone agreed, and they left the room. The ship was really big. He still couldn't believe he was going to travel to Jupiter with it.
He had a small room just for him. He put his stuff there, and rested, since he had nothing to do. Suddenly, he heard a sound. He understood the ship was moving: they were finally leaving. He was now really excited, but he needed to sleep first.
A few days later, while he was reading in his room, someone knocked:
"Yes ?"
The door opened. He was shocked to see Y/N standing there, smiling. He immediately went up and bowed.
"No no no! You don't need to do that, Jeno!"
He opened his eyes wide, and stammered:
"You... you know my-my name ?"
She nodded. She explained:
"I read all your training reports, and I must say that yours was the most impressing. You never showed a bad side, always looked happy. And I wanted to ask you why ?"
He didn't know why, but he told her without thinking:
"I don't think of it as a burden. It is a precious gift. That's why I try to do my best."
She was impressed. It was the first time she met someone like him. She opened her mouth to answer, but a bump made her stumble. They didn't have time to react, because another happened, followed by more.
"Is it supposed to happen ?
-Not at all!"
She grabbed his arm and started to run towards the controle room, with him following. She exclaimed to the other crew members:
"What's happening ?
-We can't go near Jupiter. A space tornado is changing our direction.
-Where are we going to ?
-We still don't know..."
Everything was happening so quickly. Suddenly, someone screamed:
"We are going to crash if we do nothing !
-Should we try to leave or to land?
-What seems to be less dangerous ?
-Landing. But the problem is we won't know where we are before going out of the ship.
-Then we should do this."
After Y/N made the choice and everyone agreed, everyone sat down, since nobody knew what would happen. They are still blocked in the tornado, so it was difficult for them to move. Suddenly, he heard Y/N mutter to the driver:
"There is a planet there. We should land there."
Where were they going ? Even she couldn't know, since they didn't know their position.
After a few minutes, the ship stopped. Everyone went up to look at the window. They were in a forest, with no sign of life. But, Y/N saw something, and said:
"We are on Earth..."
