You were always born deaf, you couldn't hear much but slight things like birds or fast cars but not too much.

Middle school was hell to you with everyone making fun of you for not being able to hear, even if you couldn't hear them it still hurted.

It was till 7th grade when you met of the the greatest people of your life, Kyōtani had transferred to your class in the middle of the year.

And when he saw you being bullied he hated it, he stood up for you and scared everyone away.

You kept telling him to leave you alone but he wouldn't leave, he was with you all the way till high school.

No matter where you were he was there with you even at volleyball practice he would let you watch him so he can keep an eye on you.

He even learned hand sigh just to make small talk to you, he learned the basics and weren't very good at it but he kept trying till you were able to understand.

It was one of those days where he couldn't walk you to class due to him testing, as you were walking around the halls since you had free period you felt a tap on your shoulder.

You turned around and saw it was one of your bullies who would annoy you when Mad dog wasn't around, "Look at you, you're useless." She said but you couldn't hear so you read her lips.

Even if you couldn't hear it your heart sank a little knowing you were kinda useless, "Answer someone when they're speaking to you, oh wait you can't hear me can't you?" She laughed.

You felt helpless without Mad dog, you had always brushed the comments away and try to make it through out the day.

"You know that little bodyguard of yours it pretty cute, maybe i'll take him from you." She smirked, you felt tears swell up in your eyes and put your face down.

You weren't going to show weakness but it was hard, you couldn't tell that her smirk had fell and they quickly left.

Looking up and not noticing them you turned around to see Mad dog, "I'm sorry I wasn't here, believe I tried to get here as quick as I could." He said in sign.

"It's okay." You replied back and forced smile then walked off, you hated crying in front of him.

Soon as you turned your back you felt something heavy on your shoulder and waist, you turned your head towards your shoulder and saw him laying his head on it.

"Please don't leave." He said in sign still holding your waist, you were kinda shocked to see his actions towards you since you knew he wasn't very passionate with people but you were different to him.

You took his arms off, "Are you gonna walk with me to class or not?" You said in sign while actually smiling.

He only nodded and took your hand, he had never done that before so it made you blush harshly.

After class he waited for you at the door to walk you home, as you both were walking you noticed him stop.

You turned towards him confused while he had his head down, you tilted you head and walked up to him.

As you grabbed his chin and lifted his head up he had teary eyes "Whats wrong." You asked in sign, "I wasn't there for you when I needed you." He replied as he was on the verge of tears.

Your eyes softened at his words he had never apologized so much, suddenly you pulled him into a hug and he tightly hugged you close to him.

It was faint but loud enough for you to hear, "I love you." He said with his eyes closed.

Your eyes widened as you heard those words he had muttered in your ear, you released from his hug and looked at him.

At first you were nervous but you then signed, "I love you too." It was quite slow but he knew what you had did.

His eyes widened too as he then took action and pulled you into a light kiss, even if it was your first kiss you kissed back.

You weren't very sure towards your feelings to him but you knew deep down in you, you had always felt something more than you two being friends.

Memories of times you two had, you did hear some things he had said but never knew what they were.

But now you finally know, it was "I love you"
