STEFAN: you freak out, and don't talk to him until you've figured out do you really want to get mixed in the drama his life must have. eventually you realize you love him too much to let go and accept who he is.
DAMON: you're interested and honestly, you've always felt like there was something supernatural in mystic falls. you understand the dangers, but you geek out because of how awesome it is too.
JEREMY: you don't know how to feel. it's weird, but eventually you get used to the thought and continue dating jeremy like nothing had changed. you think it's fine, as long as he doesn't get hurt.
ELIJAH: you start to cry. you're slightly scared, and feel a little betrayed, because he didn't tell you until now, but he assures you of his good intentions and you stay with him and bravely continue on loving him.
KLAUS: you get angry, because you had known each other for years and he tells you only now. you feel betrayed and like he doesn't trust you, but he manages to calm you down and explains everything to you after some time apart.
KOL: you don't believe him at first. it isn't until he shows you his fangs and eyes that you start to grasp the truth, but for a while, you're convinced he's just pulling a prank or teasing you somehow.
