Deep Below- Part Two

Catra makes a magic sigil then adds Two more, then they suddenly light up and five orbs of light spread out around them.

"Isn't that going to make us a target?" Netossa says

"It already knows were coming besides it so dark down here anything that lives down here already can see in the dark." Catra says

"Relax it's just us and that creature." Mermista says taking the lead.

"And how do you know that?" Netossa says following

"I can sense sea creatures that are around me and the entire way down here there's not been even single fish." Mermista says

"We didn't notice because darkness around us." Catra says

"Now that you mention it I can't see anything beyond the area of light your giving off." Netossa says

"That's because your eyes are focusing on the light around us. If you focus your eyes and look beyond the light you can probably make out shapes but that's about it." Catra says

"Damn, were at a sever disadvantage." Netossa says.

"Tell me about it." Catra says

They continue to swim for a number of minutes before they see the cave go from rock to rock with veins of tech fused within them.

"First ones tech?" Netossa asks

"Yeah, Mermista even with these pressure suits if we continue going deeper...we'll be crushed." Catra says looking at her arm.

As she focuses her attention to her arm makes a mental note of screen showing the underwater pressure flashing yellow.

"That's not going to be a problem were here." Mermista says as they enter a open space.

Catra quickly sends her orbs of light in the room. As they reach their positions they start glowing brighter illuminating the entire area.

There eyes instinctively close before opening and adjusting to their surroundings. That's when they notice a Enormous creature. As they exit the cave they notice it leads to a cliff that drops off to a endless expanse of darkness. Looking back at the creature they see dozens of bright yellow eyes cat like in nature. Littering the darkness in front of them. Catra sends the orbs of light to the creature. As they move to the creature they illuminate a long serpent like body. The body itself seemingly has a faded dark blue hardened exoskeleton covering a greenish skin. As the light leads to its head they see a snake like head. They notice three gleaming yellow eyes staring at them. 

"Were here! What do you want with me?" Mermista shouts

After what seems like a eternity, a deep and guttural voice bellows out from the creature.

"Finally you've come child of Ancients."

As it speaks its voice echoes into the furthest reaches of their minds.

"What?" Mermista says confused

"The heart...is finally open....my prison now broken...Child of Ancients you are the key. Open the door and I shall swallow this world."

As it speaks its body starts to writhe in anticipation.

"Why would I ever let you  do that!?" She snarls

"For your love." It says its voice sinister

The creatures face opens to reveal hundreds if not thousands of teeth. Out of its gape unfurrows a dozen tentacles.

As it moves it sudden freezes as a thousands of runes light up across its body. It groans in pain shaking the rock around them.

"What have you done!?" Mermista shouts

"I've learned....much from... that insect...those Ancients are all but gone...all that's left....is but one....gone from this world she is...you who are connected to my key....will free me...or I will devour his mind..."

It say says clear excitment showing.

Mermista falls to her knees. Hands covering her face.

"I...-" she tries to speak she feels a hand touch her shoulder.

"New deal. We take you down here and now!" Catra shouts with a smirk

"Uh Catra how about we don't antagonize the giant sea monster." Netossa says her voice shaking

"I wasn't sure on our way down here but now that I'm this close I'm sure. The first ones didn't just seal you away. They connected you to Poseidon. They must have known if you ever got free you'd destroy the heart. So they connected you to the runestone so if it was destroyed you would be too. And if that's the case then that means I can connect to you like a runestone. Mermista all I can do is act as conduit the rest of it is up to you! Atlas! Athena I need you now!" Catra yells

"What are you talking about"

Netossa says

Catra grabs the side of Mermista's head. Catra focuses and she starts to glow a red while her eyes glow white. At the same time Mermista starts to glow a light blue.

"Catra I don't recommend this. Even at this distance your spreading your conciousness top thin. If she fails he could devour your mind. On top of that the strain it'll cause to your mind will be immense." Atlas warns

"Just do it!" Catra shouts as blood starts to flow out of her eyes.

Mermista's vision blackens then she suddenly feels wind. Not just any wind strong with the thundering of waves crashing against each other. She opens her eyes to see herself standing on a ocean. Standing in the eye of a storm, in front of her stands the Pearl that protects Salineas. But it looks different its once proud shiny blue now stands cracked with a sickly green  clouding its brilliance.

"Where am I?" Mermista questions

"Your in the mind space of the pos- the Pearl. I can't help you anymore than this...the rest is up to you." Catra shouts from behind her

Catra turns around to see a Faded Catra almost ghost like. But she notices a red and white spark in her chest. Just as she was about to question her she hears a loud crash. She turns to see two galleon ships with its cannons pointed at her.

"Oh great." Mermista says as she uses her power make a water tunnel shooting her up In the air.

She lifts her hand expecting to lift her trident but remember she didn't bring it. But is surprised as it appears in her grasp. She smiles and raises it and points it to the ships. Suddenly cyclones form around her.

"Now then tell me where that idiot is."
