Chapter 9

Two years later

The sound of foots steps echo throughout the Fright zone as scorpia walks towards a guard.

"Is Catra inside?" She asks looking at the girl

"Yes ma'am." The girl says stiffing up.

"I see, well I'm going to check on her." She says attempting to walk past her but is suddenly blocked by a spear.

"I'm sorry Catra has asked to be left alone." The guard says firmly.

"Oh okay got it. Quick look over there!" Scorpia says standing there whistling.

"What are you-" the guard says but is interrupted by scorpias stinger hitting her.

She opens the door to find Catra looking in good health but her surroundings look like that of a mad conspiracy Theorists. A large magical sigil on the floor taking up most of the room. Alters of eight rune stone shards placed in the middle with rune engravings etched into the pathways leading to a fragment of the black Garnet.

"Scorpia? Whoever is on shift right now totally fired." Catra says with an annoyed look.

"What is all this catra?" She asks

"ITS SCIENCE!" Entrapta yells as she walks up to Micah giving him tiny food.

"Its an experiment im working on, why are you here?" Catra says putting down her tools.

"Just checking up on you. Because ever since  you told us that Adora sent another message six months ago you've been kinda only acting differently." Scorpia says nervously.

"This has nothing to do with Adora." Catra says her voice cold and emotionless.

"Yeah of course it's just were kinda worried about you, like friends do." Scorpia says fidgeting.

After a short sigh Catra walks over to scorpia and gestures for her crouch. Scorpia does so and is met with a head pat. Scorpia looks to Catra and sees a gently smiling Catra.

"Yes, we are friends and I trust that my friends will trust me enough to know when I'm not okay. We can talk later okay? I'm really busy here." Catra says warmly

"See I knew we had no reason to worry! Don't worry Catra I'll let everyone know your fine." Scorpia says with the biggest smile as she walks out.

"Finally we can get back to work. How is everything progressing." Catra says walking up to Entrapta.

"Were almost ready, thanks to your efforts in locating all these shards on beast island the project is nearly complete. All we need is a test subject. I believe I still have some animals left at dryll." Entrapta says looking over some data pads.

"No need, I started this project with the intention of empowering me. According to the data it will only work once. so tell me where to stand." Catra says her impatience now showing.

"Well if you say so! Just go over and place your hand on the fragment." Entrapta says putting her mask on.

"Well here goes...well everything." Catra says

Speaking her last thoughts Catra is immediately filled with searing pain. As each of the Rune stone shards glow different color Dark Green, purple, black, gray, white, blue,red, brown. They begin to emit a string like glow connecting to the Black Garnet fragment. The pain felt like a eternity but only 10 seconds had pasted.

"There charged! Break the stone its weakened!" Entrapta yells.

Then using all her strength she crushes the fragment and a blast of magical energy bursts out.
