Trigger warning: mentions of torture and violence

The week after Neville had taken to hiding in the Room of Requirements, Carina had visited him daily with Ginny and Seamus to give him food and a bit of company. They had agreed that using the coins for the DA was a good plan and they were going to slowly start removing the children that were getting beaten in the torture chambers and moving them to the room of requirements as a hide out.

Neville had made the requirements for the room so incredibly specific that you could now only enter if you said Dumbledore's army three times. Carina thought it was brilliant at how well he was coping and she thought it was incredibly smart how he was making sure that anyone who came into the room was going to be safe.

She would never have thought to do it so specific if she was being honest with herself, not many people would know to do that and it was actually the safest way for everyone.

She had also been writing to Fred in the book he had gifted her. He was doing well, he said his mother was getting extremely more anxious as the days went on and didn't want Ginny returning to Hogwarts after Easter.  Carina could understand this and sometimes she wish Eleonora cared for her and Blaise like Mrs Weasley did for all her children. Fred expressed that he didn't want Carina returning either because of how dangerous everything was getting outside of the castle walls. He thought the safest place for her to be was behind all sorts of protective enchantments.

She hadn't dared tell him that Professor Snape hadn't been making the potion because he was aware she had some, but she was running out. She didn't know how she would feel if she was completely off the potion again, she felt like she had become slightly dependent on it.

She understood where Fred was coming from though, in Aunt Muriel's they would be safe, whereas in the castle it was dangerous and filled with death eaters, where she could easily set off her curse.

The longer she was away from Orion, Fred and George the more she missed them. She hadn't felt like this previously about missing Fred as she always had Orion but now she didn't have any she constantly felt as if she was a bit of a spare part because the trio and Lee Jordan were now spending time with each other more often. Carina didn't mind though, she had her own friends now too which was something she had never expected but she did miss spending time with Orion on their own like they used to and she missed having secret Hogwarts dates with Fred.  It was all psychological, especially because she knew that Fred and Orion were her main boys after Blaisey.

Carina Bella Zabini had become reckless in the recent days, she was going out at night writing graffiti on the walls saying the DA was now recruiting and she was fairly certain that Rabastan Lestrange knew that it was her but he would never say anything to her. They had an argument where she had called him all sorts of names saying he had no right to judge her or bully Neville, he hadn't taken this too well and stormed out of the room. She didn't care though, she would protect Neville with her entire being, he had to survive this war because he had to live.
