The first day back of classes had always given Carina Bella Zabini flutters in her stomach. She loved learning. Even though if her betrothal with Nott went ahead her education would basically be for nothing, she still wanted to work hard and advance her knowledge and expand it as much as she could.

She wasn't a natural learner, when she was younger she took a lot longer to be able to read than Blaise had, she couldn't read her name until she was six years old. Education among pureblood girls really wasn't something that was pushed for before Hogwarts, hence why Carina Bella Zabini didn't even pick up her first quill until she was nine years old. However she still struggled to read and Orion told her there was this muggle thing called Dyslexia which he thought she could have.

Professor Flitwick waddled up to her with her timetable. For her OWLS,  she was going to do Charms, Transfiguration, Defence, Herbology, Potions, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, History of Magic and Astronomy.

She had wanted to do Care of Magical Creatures as she quite liked Mr Hagrid and he always had something interesting to say to her which she didn't know, however she had to reduce her work load some how and she decided to cut divination and care of magical creatures so she could do her Astronomy and Arithmancy. She had also noticed Hagrid wasn't even here at the moment, he wasn't at the teachers table which was odd, Hagrid was always there but she didn't want to dwell on it, she was sure he was fine.

"Oh I remember our OWLs," Michael had said to Orion as they sat opposite Carina at the table

"They were awful, didn't do too bad in the end though." Orion shrugged "except for my troll in potions, but I didn't want to carry it onto NEWTs anyway,"  Orion grinned and Carina laughed.

Carina didn't care too much for potions, she was good at it though. She was debating becoming a healer or a teacher. She wasn't too sure, but she didn't really have to worry about it. She just needed to get O's in the subjects she needed to become a healer firstly. Potions being one of them. Otherwise she most definitely wanted to be a teacher, maybe in Astronomy or Ancient Runes. If it was Professor Lupin teaching she would definitely have wanted to be Defence teacher or train under him, it would have been her dream.

"How do you feel about Defence?" Orion asked her and Carina shrugged

"I mean she's obviously not going to be anywhere near as brilliant as Professor Lupin," she started "but I can't judge her until I've had her in a lesson can I?"

Carina had defence with the other houses and she gave Orion a hug before heading towards Blaise so they could walk together. Upon arriving they sat at the middle aisle together. Both her and Blaise hated sitting in the front and they despised being at the back. They felt the middle was a great space as they wouldn't get called on for being eager and wouldn't be called on for being at the back and 'disruptive'.
