Carina Bella Weasley was eighteen years old when she witnessed the deaths of her first crush, Remus John Lupin, her first friend/soul mate, Orion Jake Phillips, and her first love, Frederick Gideon Weasley. She hadn't known that she had lost Fred straight away though.
At the Battle of Hogwarts, in a surprising turn of events, Draco Malfoy had found and carried Carina's body into the great hall as when Ron had found them he said he'd go back for her after they had moved Fred's body.
When Blaise and Leonardo saw Carina in Draco's arms, Blaise and Leonardo choked on a sob, refusing to believe that the light in their lives had been taken from them too. Blaise collapsed to his knees repeating the word 'no' over and over, the feeling of pain in his heart seeing the one person he was meant to protect laying and appearing lifeless was too much.
Finding carina was an awful experience for Draco, seeing his childhood best friend laying there lifeless terrified him. He didn't know what to do at first, he shook her body and tried to detect any type of pulse and he couldn't. He tried everything he could to revive her when he managed to gather his thoughts but he wasn't sure it was working. The tears never stopped flowing as he finished trying to revive her, realising there might not be a hope.
Leonardo took his niece from Draco's arms immediately and placed her on the beds next to Fred's. Mrs Weasley ran over and checked for a pulse. Ron had told them not to bother, he'd already checked for one when he looked for Fred's but he couldn't find one. He was sitting with his arms around an inconsolable George, who faced the prospect of losing the three most important people in his life on the same night. Draco also told Mrs Weasley he had tried everything but he didn't think she was alive — they didn't want to face the reality of losing Carina Bella Weasley.
However, Mrs Weasley was just that little bit better than Ron and Draco at detecting pulses.
"She's alive!" Mrs Weasley squeaked rushing to find a healer to help carina as quickly as she could
Blaise was choking on sobs as he held his sister's hands. To see her looking lifeless terrified him, he never wanted to see her like this again, she truly was everything to him. The thought of losing his twin was something Blaise never wanted to face ever again. Did he tell her that he loved her before the battle? Merlin he couldn't even remember!
Draco stood at the foot of her bed watching, he had made his side clear during the battle. He hadn't gone over to the death eaters when his father had called him, he stayed with Blaise for support — for carina. He needed to do better.
Because he knew that his brother would need it the most. They all knew that Carina Bella Weasley would need support when she woke up, as there was no Orion or Fred there for her anymore.
