Carina Bella Zabini loved Christmas. What she didn't love, however, was the pureblood ball. She argued this year to have a dress that was red as she wanted to feel like it was Christmas but her mother had told her no. Her mother had got her a pale blue dress, which unbeknownst to Carina, was the dress that she would announce her betrothal in.

She was looking in the mirror at her dress and trying to smooth it down. She absolutely hated the fact that the front was very open, despite the fact it was a beautiful dress she felt very self conscious, especially as she knew she was slightly underdeveloped for her age — Eleonora always made sure to let her know that. She was fifteen she shouldn't even have been wearing such a revealing dress but Eleonora said it was important she looked older.

Blaise had knocked on the door and smiled. The ball had been moved from Christmas Day to Christmas Eve as there had been rumours of an event adults only needed to attend on Christmas night which was bizarre but nobody questioned it.

"You look wonderful Sorella," Blaise complimented and Carina smiled before giving herself one last look in the mirror

"I don't look bad do I? It doesn't look too much?" She asked

"I just said you look wonderful, you'll be the most stunning person in there," he chuckled grabbing her hand and pulling her away from the mirror.

The two twins left the room and headed downstairs. Carina was to be apparating with Robert and Blaise was going with Eleonora. Robert held his arm out at the bottom of the stairs and kissed Eleonora before her and Blaise apparated.

"You better not embarrass us tonight Carina. It's an important night," he said sternly and Carina just nodded slightly

She grabbed his arm and felt the familiar sensation of apparation. She bent over trying to stop the sick sensation but was pulled forward harshly by the arm by Robert who could see the Malfoy's waiting for them.

"Carina you look beautiful!" Cissy said hugging the girl and kissing each cheek

"Thank you Cissy! You look wonderful yourself!" Carina complimented and they both chuckled.

Draco was standing next to Lucius in a black suit and he looked just as uncomfortable as Carina felt, the difference was is that Carina knew how to play the perfect pureblood daughter.

They all went inside and Carina pulled Blaise and Draco straight to the drinks table. She knew she would not be getting through this night without several glasses of wine that was there. Carina loved the first dance at the balls, she would always dance with Draco or Blaise and they'd mess it right up and have a laugh with it as the rest of the night was painfully boring.
