The day before Carina arrived back at Hogwarts Professor Severus Snape was officially announced as Headmaster and they had made it compulsory for all witches and wizards to attend Hogwarts.
Carina was terrified. So terrified that they had strict plans to meet Blaise on the platform and Fred was going to walk her and Ginny on the train with Blaise. This was the first one without Orion so it was safe to say Carina was shitting her pants.
The morning of September First was busy, Carina had said her good byes to everyone before they arrived at the train station but it didn't stop her from hugging Orion tightly before he left — he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead and told her to write to him always, he checked with carina that kissing her was ok first — saying good bye to Fred was the hardest part. Especially because their weird place due to Carina's fear of touching at the moment.
She had gotten better but she was still terrified and Fred understood that but what he was scared of was Carina going back to Hogwarts even if it was only for just a term.
"Well this is it then, my first and last year at Hogwarts on my own," Carina teased but couldn't help letting out a big sigh
"Please be careful darling, write to me as often as you can," he said bringing her knuckles up to his mouth and kissing them
The two were still yet to share a kiss but carina was trying. She was really slowly getting better with the touching despite her deep-rooted fear. Blaise had arrived on the platform with Leonardo and Carina smiled waving at them.
The group were together at the platform, Carina noticed the tenseness in the air as eleven o'clock neared. She gave Orion one last hug before turning to Fred with tears in her eyes.
"I'm going to miss you Freddie, I'm sorry I'm not at my best but I promise I'll get there soon," she told him wiping her tears
"You're the best for me Care Bear, don't ever doubt it. Go change the world darling," he rn outraged giving her a tight hug "mi sono innamorato di te," he whispered
"I love you so much,"
Carina squeezed Fred tightly and gently pressed her lips to his cheek. Fred felt his insides warm, he was so proud of Carina for taking this first step since everything that happened to her especially as she refused to talk about it much.
