*Later that night*

After walking for an hour, Bella and I finally found Thunderbird and Whale. It was a tiny, quiet store on the edge of Port Angeles. We entered the store and the man at the counter gave us a small smile and a nod. I returned the smile before following Bella along the aisle's. "Native mythology and legends" said Bella before she began skimming the book case.

After a few moments she pulled out a blue hard cover book with a Native American man on the front. I followed her to the front counter where she paid the guy. "Here you go" he said as he handed Bella the book back. "Thank you" she said before we walked to the door. "Have a good night" said the man. "Thank you" I replied before we exited.

"It's getting dark" I said as I looked out at the darkening sky. "Yeah. We should find the others. Do you know where the restaurant is from here?" Bella asked. "Uh yeah I think so. I went there once with my mom when we lived here. I actual didn't even know that book store was there" I replied as Bella and I walked.

Within 15 minutes of leaving, the sky was pitch black and the temperature had dropped. I shoved my hands into the pocket of my jacket as Bella and I walked. "I think it's this way" I said as we walked down a slanting path leading down an alley. As we went to walk down, two figures ahead stopped and began walking towards us.

"Go" I said nudging Bella as we walked back the way we came. "Don't look back just keep going. When the sun goes down, the creeps come out here" I said as I walked closely to Bella. That's one thing I didn't miss about Seattle. I didn't have to walk home with my keys between my fingers incase someone attacked me. "This way" I said to Bella.

"Hey! Saw you two in the dress store!" One of the men called out and I felt my heart beat quicken. "Where are you running to?" the other man called out. I felt the panic set in as more men appeared. Bella and I tried to walk away paying them no mind as they hollered at us. We tried to walk between two of the men as they appeared in front of us.

"Hey! Whoa Whoa Whoa where you going?" One of the men said as he stopped us. "Where are you going?" One of the men asked as he grabbed my hand and I pulled it away from him. "Come get a drink with us ladies" They egged on. "No thank you. Now can you back off?!" I said as I grabbed Bella's arm incase we needed to run.

"Ohh someone's feisty. Let's have some fun baby" said one of the guys as he groped me and I gasped before slapping him hard. "Don't touch me!" said Bella before she kneed one of the guys in the groin. "Bella run!" I exclaimed giving her a push as she ran. I was right behind her when one of the men grabbed my bag yanking me over to them.

One of them gripped my shoulders as another began to remove my jacket. "NO! STOP! HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!" I screamed at the top of my lungs before one of them covered my mouth with his filthy hand as I whimpered helplessly. Suddenly a car screeched into the alley way causing the men to stumble back dropping me to the ground.

I trembled as I looked up to see Edward step out of his car. "Get in the car!" He said darkly and I got to my feet before scrambling for the car door. I climbed in as I continued to shake in fear. I watched as one of the men said something to Edward. He took a step forward and I watched as he tensed up causing the men to take a step back.

He turned and hastily climbed back in the car before driving at the men. They scrambled away before Edward turned the car around and sped off. "B-Bella! What about Bella! She's back there!" I stammered. "Christopher picked her up" Edward spat as he continued to speed. "I should go back there and rip those guys heads off" Edward snapped.

"Don't be stupid! That's a crazy idea!" I argued. "You don't know the vile, repulsive things they were thinking" said Edward as he continued to drive crazily. "And you do?!" I exclaimed. "It's not hard to guess" he replied. "Can you talk about something else?! Distract me so I don't turn around" He snapped.

"If you could stop driving like a maniac, that would be great. You don't even have your seatbelt on! This isn't Fast and the Furious!" I said as he continued crazily overtaking cars causing them to beep. Edward gave a laugh like a mad man before looking over at me. "You should put your seatbelt on if you don't feel safe" He said as he laughed.

Flashbacks of the night Charlotte died flashed through my mind and I felt myself grip the seat. "EDWARD SLOW DOWN PLEASE!" I screamed as tears slipped from my eyes. I felt him stop the car on the side of the road as I covered my face, the tears streaming uncontrollably. "I-I'm sorry for scaring you. Just those guys doing that to you..." Edward trailing.

I calmed down after a few moments and shook my head. "Could you please just get me out of Seattle?" I said as I turned to him. Edward nodded and drove off silently, his speed back to normal. I pulled my hands into the sleeves of my jacket and watched as Edward reached forward turning on the heating. I gave a small sigh and bit my bottom lip.

"You hungry?" He asked and I shrugged before nodding. He arrived at a small restaurant of some sort and we got out. We entered the half filled restaurant and a waitress lead us to a table. We sat down and I skimmed over the menu. After a few moments the waitress returned with a notepad and pen. "Can I please have the pesto pasta and a lemonade?" I asked and she nodded before walking away.

"I'm sorry for screaming at you. Um I have PTSD and when people drive erratically, it causes flash backs and I panic" I said as Edward looked at me. "I apologise. I didn't know" said Edward and I shook my head. "Its not something I often tell people" I replied. "If you don't mind me asking, what caused your PTSD?" Edward asked.

I sucked in a small breath before letting it out. "Umm 3 years ago my mom, twin sister and I got in a bad car accident. It was 1 AM in the morning and we driving home from a trip to Alaska when a truck drove past and caused snow to cover my moms windscreen. We skidded onto black ice and my mom lost control of the car. We swerved off of the road and hit a big tree. My sister was killed immediately upon impact. I didn't know until three weeks later when I awoke from my coma. Two days later my mom woke from hers and I had to break the news to her. Ever since then, the moment someone drives crazy with me in the car, it just takes me back to that night" I replied as I wiped a fallen tear.

"I'm sorry for your loss" said Edward and I gave a small smile. "Thank you" I replied. "You're not eating?" I said as I looked at him and he cleared his throat. "No I'm on a special diet" he replied. "Edward you've gotta give me some answers" I said as I swallowed my mouthful of pasta. "Yes,no. To get to the other side. 1.77245-""I don't need to know the square root of pie" I replied as I shook my head and a small smile formed on his face.

"How did you know where I was tonight?" I said. "I didn't" he replied and I sighed. "I'm done with your riddles and your games. You say I'm hard to read? You're impossible" I said irritably as I stood up gathering my things getting ready to leave. "Wait, don't leave" he said as he looked up at me. I sat back down looking at him skeptically.

"Were you following me or something?" I asked. "I feel very protective of you" said Edward lowly. "So you were following me" I said feeling a little weirded out. "I was trying to keep a distance unless you needed my help and then I heard what those low-life's were thinking-""Wait, y-you heard what they were thinking?" I questioned as I cut him off.

He gave a dry chuckle as he averted his eyes. "Are you telling me you read minds?" I asked. "I can read every mind in this room except for yours" said Edward and my eyes widened. I've know it all along. He wasn't normal...
