"Morning mom, morning Carlos" I said as I walked downstairs to the kitchen. "Morning bebita" said my mom as she typed away on her computer. "Morning Serena" Carlos said as he entered the dining room in his suit. Carlos got a job at a law firm here in town.
"I'm going to have to cancel our movie night tonight Serena. They threw me on a last minute late night shift" said mom as she looked up at me. "No stress. We can just reschedule for another time " I replied as I shrugged. "And Carlos will be going hunting so you'll be alone for a few hours if that's alright" Mom said and I nodded.
I poured myself a bow of cereal and finished it quickly before grabbing my bag from the stool at the counter. "Bye mom love you" I said as I walked over and kissed her cheek. "Have a good day at school kid" said Carlos as he fist bumped me on my way out. I climbed into my car before starting it up and driving off.
I parked my car in the school parking lot before I climbed out and shut my door. I placed my bag onto my shoulder as I locked my car. "Hey Serena" I heard Eric say and turned to see him beside me. "Morning" I replied with a warm smile. "So you and Cullen huh? When uhhh when did that happen?" Eric asked as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Mmm we sort of got close during our classes together and one thing led to another I guess" I replied as I turned to him. "Ohh ok. But doesn't he weird you out?" Eric said and I arched an eyebrows as I looked at him. "Eric let me ask you a serious question. Have you ever personally spoken to Edward or anyone in his family for that matter?" I questioned.
"No but-""Exactly. There's an old saying; you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Try it out sometime" I said before I felt an arm snake around my waist. I turned and saw Edward. "Morning" he said before pecking my temple. "I'll catch you later" Eric said before he walked off and I shook my head slightly as I turned in Edwards arms.
"What was that about?" he asked. "Nothing. It's fine" I said brushing it off. He gave a nod before we headed into school. "I have a question" Edward said as we walked to history together. "And that is?" I said as we entered the class and took our seats at the back.
"My family is playing baseball tomorrow night and were wondering if you would like to come?" Edward said. "Vampires playing baseball?" I said as a smile came to my face. Edward chuckled as he nodded. "Something we like to do to pass the time" he replied.
"Wait, isn't there a storm coming in tomorrow?" I said as I remembered the weather forecast from last nights news. "Yes but we can only play when there's a storm" said Edward and I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. "Why?" I asked and he chuckled once more. "You'll see" he replied.
"Uh yeah sure I'll go" I said before our teacher, Mrs Sentia entered the classroom and started our lesson.
I walked to my locker and placed all of my books inside as I prepared to go to lunch. "Serena!" I heard an excited voice say and looked to see Alice skipping over to me. "Hey Alice" I said as she wrapped me in a tight hug. "So Edward let me know you were going tomorrow and I'm so glad you said yes! I mean I already knew you would because I saw it but anyways, here is a spare jersey so you fit in with the rest of us oh and dress warm. As I'm sure you're aware, Forks isn't exactly the warmest place on earth but when we play, it can get quit cold" said Alice as she handed me the jersey.
"Thanks Alice" I said as I folded it and placed it in my bag. "No problem. I'll see you tomorrow!" She said before turning and skipping over to Jasper.
Later that night I was sitting in my room trying to complete my biology homework when my phone began to ring. I fished it out of my bag and answered it. "Hello?" I said as I held it to my ear. "Hey baby its mom" I replied as I popped a chip into my mouth. "I just wanted to quickly call and check that everything was alright" she said as I swallowed my chip.
"Yeah everything's good. I haven't burned down the house yet" I joked and she laughed. "I'm glad. How was the paella? Did it taste alright?" said my mom. "Yeah it was great. I've missed your cooking so much" I replied. "Thank goodness. Since I don't eat anymore I get nervous that my food will taste awful. God I feel so bad that you're home alone" said mom. "Mom don't feel bad, it's not like I'm 12" I relied.
"I know I know" she replied. I felt a gust of wind causing me to jump as I let out a small gasp. I turned and saw Edward standing by my window. "Serena, is everything ok?" I heard my mom ask. "Yeah everything's fine. Umm just left my window open and the breeze caught me off guard. Anyways, I'll let you go. I have heaps of homework to catch up on" I said.
"Ok sweetie. I'll see you in the morning" said my mom before she hung up the phone. I placed my phone down as Edward walked over to my bed and sat across from me. "Hello" he said with a small smirk. "Hi. You scared the crap out of me" I said and Edward chuckled. "Sorry" he replied. "How did you get in here?" I asked.
"The window" Edward replied. "Have you done that before?" I asked. "Yeah" Edward replied. "When?" I asked. "The last few months I've popped in from time to time. I just couldn't stand being away from you" Edward replied. In a weird way, it was kind of cute and creepy at the same time. "You look adorable when you sleep" Edward said and a blush of embarrassment came to my cheeks.
"God. You would've heard me snore and probably talk in my sleep" I said as I covered my face. "I don't pay attention" he replied. Edward raised his hand to my cheek and caressed it before he traced his thumb over my lips lightly. "I just want to test something. Stay very still" said Edward as he began leaning closer to me. I had only kissed Edward once since we've been together.
My eyes flicked to his lips as he leaned his forehand against mine. Very slowly our lips met and moulded together. We pulled away for a second before our lips rejoined, this time the kiss becoming more passionate as Edward laid me down. I felt my heart race as his hand caressed my hip and his lips moved to my neck.
"NO!" Edward said suddenly as umped off of me and I sat up instantly. "I'm stronger then I thought" he said as he leaned against my wall. "You're telling me" I said breathlessly. "Serena, I can't ever lose control with you" said Edward as he looked at me. "I trust you" I replied back. Edward turned and took a step towards the window.
"Wait, don't go. Please stay" I said as he stopped. Edward gave a nod and walked over to my bed. I slid over as he sat beside me and we began to talk.
Edward's P.O.V
I watched Serena's chest rise up and down slowly as she slept peacefully. Her mouth sat in a cute pout as her eyes lightly twitched. I wanted so badly to see into her mind. Know what she was dreaming about, what she was thinking of. She let out a soft groan as her breathing picked up. She began to stir and I scrunched my eyebrows.
I gently stroked her arm causing her stirring to cease before she rolled over facing me and snuggled into my side causing me to stiffen. I didn't want to wake her. I slowly placed my hand on her waist as she let out a small sigh and that's how we stayed for the rest of the night.
